When to trigger

• "Submitting this week" — last check before uploading to JCP

• JCP is the journal of the Society for Consumer Psychology (SCP), APA Division 23, published by Wiley (it migrated from Elsevier). pISSN 1057-7408, eISSN 1532-7663. Editor-in-Chief: David Wooten (term 2024–2026), with Co-Editors Rajesh Bagchi and Aparna Labroo; incoming EiC Rajesh Bagchi (Virginia Tech), 2027–2029 (verified 2026-06-22 via myscp.org / Wiley; re-verify the masthead before submission). • All conditions and measures disclosed; sample-size determination and exclusion rules stated

• Confirmed the paper is not under review elsewhere; AI not listed as an author

Anti-patterns

• Submitting a one-mechanism finding as a 50-page Article (or four studies as a Report)
• Leaving author-identifying citations or file metadata in a double-blind submission
• Treating open data/materials as a post-acceptance chore instead of preparing it now
• Asterisk-only tables with no effect sizes/CIs (fails the rigor-era bar)
• Quoting "Elsevier / Editorial Manager" from the stale source map — re-verify on the Wiley/myscp page
