Automates devcontainer creation with Claude Code plus language-specific tooling for Python, Node/TypeScript, Rust, and Go, layering templates, extensions, and post-create commands so teams can spin up isolated, persistent workspaces quickly.

This skill automates the creation of isolated, pre-configured development containers (devcontainers). It scans the project structure to detect supported languages (Python, Node.js, Rust, Go) and intelligently generates the necessary configuration files, VS Code extensions, and setup scripts. It ensures all required tools are installed in a sandboxed environment, making it ideal for starting new multi-language projects or needing consistent, reproducible development workspaces.

This skill provides a comprehensive framework for auditing and improving the efficiency of GitHub Codespaces environments. It helps users identify waste sources like oversized devcontainers, inefficient machine types, and poorly scoped prebuilds. By following a structured workflow, users can reduce monthly cloud spending, drastically cut startup times, and maintain optimal development throughput.

This skill automates the creation of pre-configured development containers (devcontainers) tailored for specific programming languages like Python, Node, Rust, and Go. It integrates Claude Code with language-specific tooling, persistent volumes, and sandboxed workspaces. Ideal for setting up isolated development environments, adding devcontainer support to existing projects, or configuring secure coding workspaces without manual setup.

Create reproducible, portable development environments using Dev Containers, Nix flakes, and Devbox to standardize toolchains, eliminate environment drift, and support onboarding and CI consistency.
