This comprehensive guide helps authors strategically position their computer security manuscripts for the ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS). It details topic fit, required threat modeling, evidence presentation, and critical comparisons with sister venues (e.g., S&P, USENIX Security). It serves as a high-level 'fit/framing' tool for maximizing submission success in core areas like privacy, cryptography, and systems security.

This guide details the rigorous process for packaging research artifacts for submission to major conferences like USENIX ATC. It outlines the requirements for earning three key badges—Artifacts Available, Functional, and Reproduced—ensuring that submitted work is reproducible, functional, and permanently archived according to industry best practices.

This comprehensive guide assists researchers in determining the optimal top-tier academic venue (such as CCS, S&P, USENIX, NDSS, PETS) for their security research. It teaches how to rigorously classify the security contribution type, sharpen the threat model, and assess the technical fit of the work based on its nature (attack, defense, protocol, etc.).

This guide details the USENIX FAST artifact evaluation process, providing systematic advice for researchers submitting system papers. It explains the requirements for earning the three USENIX badges (Available, Functional, Reproduced). Key topics include managing hardware dependencies in storage systems, packaging best practices (e.g., Docker containers, raw logs, comprehensive READMEs), and ensuring the final artifact is maximally reproducible for external evaluation.

This comprehensive audit guide helps authors prepare submissions for USENIX FAST, covering critical details like selecting the correct deadline (Spring/Fall), adhering to USENIX two-column formatting, managing strict page limits, performing double-blind anonymization, and detailing artifact availability. Use this checklist before uploading to HotCRP to minimize desk rejects.

This comprehensive guide helps authors structure and partition their research findings for top-tier academic conferences, such as USENIX FAST. It defines the strict rules for separating core, decision-critical evidence (which must reside in the main body) from supporting materials, artifacts, and appendices, ensuring compliance with page budgets and double-blind review standards.

A comprehensive guide for researchers deciding the optimal conference venue (e.g., FAST, OSDI, NSDI, ATC) for their storage-related academic work. It advises on distinguishing a core storage contribution from general systems results, detailing specific contribution shapes FAST rewards, and providing routing logic based on the project's nature and evidence maturity.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting storage-related research to top-tier conferences (e.g., USENIX FAST). It dictates how to structure the paper, emphasizing leading with the specific storage cost addressed (e.g., write amplification, tail latency, endurance) and grounding all claims in proportional, real-device evidence rather than generic performance statements. Essential for ensuring technical rigor and reviewer trust.

A comprehensive guide for positioning security research submissions (e.g., for NDSS, USENIX). It teaches how to write the 'Related Work' section not as a mere literature review, but as a critical security argument that establishes genuine novelty (the 'delta') by distinguishing mechanisms, layers, and preconditions from prior art. Covers citation verification, handling concurrent work, and double-blind anonymity rules.

A comprehensive guide for security researchers to determine the optimal top-tier conference venue for their paper. It provides structured 'fit tests'—including the wire test, deployment envelope test, and adversary ownership test—and a routing table to assess whether the work belongs at NDSS, IEEE S&P, USENIX Security, or related venues, maximizing the chance of successful publication.

A comprehensive guide for authors targeting top-tier security conferences like NDSS. This skill helps determine manuscript fit, refine the academic framing, strengthen evidence, and understand venue-specific expectations (e.g., realistic attacker models, empirical validation). It serves as a strategic tool for conference submission planning, comparing submissions against related venues like USENIX Security and CCS.

This skill acts as a comprehensive guide for authors targeting the USENIX Symposium on Networked Systems Design and Implementation (NSDI). It helps authors assess the fit of their research in networked, distributed, or cloud systems, providing strategic advice on paper reframing, required levels of evidence (e.g., real-scale deployment), and accurate positioning relative to closely related conferences like OSDI and SIGCOMM. It is a critical tool for optimizing conference submission chances.
