This guide provides a rigorous framework for designing empirical and qualitative studies in the field of entrepreneurship. It emphasizes a 'theory-first' approach, guiding researchers on how to structure designs that effectively test theoretical mechanisms while addressing common methodological challenges such as selection bias, survivorship bias, and establishing temporal precedence. Essential for manuscripts targeting top-tier journals in the field.

This guide helps researchers select and defend the appropriate empirical methodology for Operations Management (OM) studies. It covers diverse design types—including surveys, archival data analysis, behavioral experiments, field studies, and intervention-based research—ensuring the design is observation-grounded, matches the operational claim, and anticipates rigorous methodological checks.

This comprehensive skill helps researchers determine if their academic paper, focusing on banking, liquidity, or financial intermediation, is suitable for the Journal of Financial Intermediation (JFI). It guides authors on necessary theoretical contributions, rigorous empirical identification methods (e.g., DiD/IV/RDD), required paper structure, and adherence to the journal's highly specific submission standards and potential rejection triggers.

A comprehensive guide for researchers writing about Manufacturing and Service Operations Management (M&SOM). It mandates that the method chosen must be dictated by the core operational decision. Provides detailed frameworks for both the analytical lane (e.g., stochastic optimization, queueing theory, game theory) and the empirical/causal lane (e.g., Difference-in-Differences, Instrumental Variables), ensuring the research delivers actionable operational insights.

This guide outlines the scope, theoretical expectations, and methodological requirements for submitting high-quality academic research to the Nankai Business Review. It targets studies in strategic management, organizational behavior (OB), HRM, and marketing that build management theory grounded in the Chinese context, requiring strong theoretical contribution and rigorous empirical or qualitative methods.

This comprehensive guide provides methodological frameworks for designing rigorous empirical studies in strategic management. It covers defining the sample, selecting the unit of analysis, validating key measures (performance and strategic choices), and critically, implementing robust identification designs (e.g., DID, IV, Fixed Effects) to address endogeneity and establish causal claims.
