Conduct, analyze, and synthesize customer research using interviews, surveys, support tickets, reviews, and online communities to uncover pains, jobs to be done, personas, and voice-of-customer insights.

This skill applies the Jobs To Be Done (JTBD) framework from behavioral economics. Instead of merely listing features, it helps uncover the underlying functional, emotional, and social progress a customer is trying to achieve when they 'hire' a product or service. It is essential for deep user research, defining product messaging, optimizing the user journey, and understanding the triggers that cause a customer to switch solutions.

This skill guides product teams beyond listing features by applying the Jobs-to-be-Done (JTBD) framework. It maps customer needs across functional, emotional, and social dimensions, allowing teams to write precise job stories. Use this to conduct deep user research, identify core pain points, and define product opportunities based on user outcomes rather than mere outputs.

This skill provides comprehensive framework for conducting deep audience research, enabling the creation of detailed buyer personas and sophisticated market segmentation strategies. It covers psychographic profiling, Jobs-to-Be-Done (JTBD) analysis, behavioral segmentation, and defining ideal customer profiles (ICPs). Use it for targeted marketing, product development, and refining outreach efforts across B2B and B2C models.
