Skill UI

This skill acts as a comprehensive router for manuscripts aiming at the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science (JAMS). It guides researchers through the complex, multi-stage process of academic writing—from initial topic selection and theoretical development to data analysis, writing style, and revision strategies (R&R). Use it to diagnose bottlenecks or determine the optimal sequence of specialized marketing science skills needed for high-impact publication.

Use this skill when you observe a consumer behavior effect but lack a deep psychological explanation. It guides the construction of a robust causal chain (antecedent → mediator → outcome) by explicitly naming the core psychological process (mediator), deriving theoretical moderators, and pre-empting rival hypotheses, adhering to high academic standards in consumer psychology.

This guide details the entire review process for the Journal of Marketing Research (JMR), from initial editorial screening and potential desk rejection to the double-anonymized peer review stage. It explains the EIC/Coeditor routing model, the requirement for two independent reviews for acceptance, and provides guidance on interpreting critical feedback (rigor vs. substance) found in decision letters. Use this before submission to set expectations, or after receiving a decision to understand the core concerns.

This skill guides authors on assessing the suitability of their consumer-psychology manuscripts for the Journal of Consumer Psychology (JCP). It evaluates the manuscript's alignment with JCP's rigorous academic standards, focusing on psychological theory contribution, process mechanisms, experimental design rigor, and house style requirements. It is essential for authors targeting JCP or needing to re-frame a paper for a top-tier consumer psychology venue.

This skill guides researchers through a rigorous two-part assessment process: first, confirming the substantive importance of a marketing phenomenon; and second, verifying that the question is modelable using formal analytical or structural econometric techniques. It helps determine the ideal target journal (e.g., Marketing Science, JCR, JMR) by evaluating the core contribution and required methodology, ensuring the research aligns with specific academic standards and counterfactual requirements.

This specialized skill guides users through a structured, forensic investigation process when facing sudden, significant drops in organic traffic or search rankings. It is designed for incident scenarios—such as suspected penalties, Core Updates, major technical regressions, or unexplained traffic crashes—providing a systematic approach to triage, root-cause analysis, and developing a prioritized recovery plan.
