Skill UI

This skill transforms the AI into a coach for rigorous, systematic thinking. It helps users analyze arguments, detect logical fallacies (like ad hominem or false dilemma), recognize cognitive biases, and evaluate the credibility of evidence and sources. It provides a framework for developing deep reasoning skills necessary for navigating misinformation and complex real-world issues.

This guide outlines the strategic approach for navigating the fast, decisive peer review process of AER: Insights. It details the single-round, conditional accept/reject model, emphasizing that papers must be submission-ready and objection-proofed upfront, as there is no traditional revise-and-resubmit cycle. Learn how to pre-empt major critiques concerning importance, robustness, and design credibility before submission.

This skill guides researchers on how to triage numerous robustness checks for short-format academic manuscripts (e.g., AER: Insights) constrained by word and exhibit limits. It teaches the 'minimum credible set' approach: identifying the 1-2 core checks that defend the central hypothesis for the main text, while systematically moving all supplementary checks to the Appendix and properly signposting them in one sentence to maintain credibility.

A comprehensive guide for conducting rigorous academic literature reviews. It teaches authors how to critically appraise and synthesize conflicting empirical evidence by weighing findings based on credibility, study design, and contextual differences. The framework ensures balance, maintains objectivity, and elevates the quality of academic scholarship.

A comprehensive guide for critically appraising primary academic studies (e.g., DID, IV, RDD) when writing literature reviews. It teaches how to assess the methodological credibility, robustness, and potential biases of existing evidence, ensuring the synthesis accurately reflects the field's best knowledge rather than merely counting conflicting results.

A comprehensive guide for structuring research manuscripts for top-tier academic journals (e.g., ASQ). It details the rigorous requirements for both qualitative (e.g., grounded theory, ethnography) and quantitative (e.g., causal inference, multilevel modeling) designs. Learn how to ensure theoretical fit, establish credibility, and design against alternative explanations to maximize the impact and rigor of your work.

A comprehensive guide for structuring and writing academic rebuttals for major conferences. It details time budgeting, how to address common reviewer objections with concrete evidence, and best practices for maintaining professional credibility throughout the intense review cycle.

This guide teaches how to precisely position a new research result within the formal theoretical lineage of existing literature. Unlike a general literature review, this method focuses on defining the formal relationship (e.g., nesting, generalization, assumption weakening) between your contribution and the closest prior work, minimizing credibility risks in academic publishing.

This strategy guides the rigorous writing of theoretical economics papers, emulating the standards of a Journal of Economic Theory (JET). It ensures that all assumptions are explicit and load-bearing, results are cleanly stated theorems, and proofs have a visible, expert-verifiable architecture. Use this when submitting a high-level theoretical paper where credibility relies on minimizing assumptions and maximizing procedural transparency for expert review.

A specialized guide for polishing academic manuscripts in financial microstructure, particularly for submissions to top journals like JFM. It teaches authors how to shift from general finance narratives to precise, technically detailed writing that focuses on market mechanics, institutional rules, and quantifying results in market units (e.g., basis points, depth). Ideal for late-stage drafting to ensure maximum impact and credibility.

A comprehensive guide for structuring and drafting response letters when facing major revisions or rejection (R&R) from top-tier academic journals, such as JHE. Teaches how to triage reviewer comments, address design credibility concerns, reconcile conflicting opinions, and present new evidence (estimates and bounds) in a professional, non-defensive manner.

A comprehensive guide for drafting a professional and structured point-by-point rebuttal letter to journal reviewers. It details the process of triaging comments, addressing statistical concerns (e.g., ITT analysis, SAP adherence), and maintaining cautious causal language required in high-impact scientific publishing. Learn how to structure your response to maximize credibility and successfully revise your manuscript.
