Skill UI

This skill guides the transformation of rich fieldwork data, material evidence, or linguistic observations into portable, theoretical arguments suitable for high-level anthropological publishing. It structures the conceptual framework, defining core concepts, interpretive mechanisms, and scope conditions, ensuring the contribution moves beyond mere description to generate cross-subfield theoretical insights.

This skill guides researchers to pressure-test their anthropological project's suitability for a major journal like American Anthropologist (AA). It emphasizes achieving "four-field reach"—ensuring the findings matter broadly to all subfields (sociocultural, archaeology, biological, linguistic)—rather than being merely novel within a single niche. Use it before committing to fieldwork or writing to assess global impact, theoretical contribution, and ethical rigor.

A comprehensive ethical framework for anthropological research (AA), focusing on accountability, informed consent, and the 'ethics of care.' This skill guides researchers on protecting vulnerable populations, handling cultural heritage, human remains, and determining what data can and cannot be shared. It emphasizes that protecting people always overrides data sharing requirements.

This sophisticated workflow orchestrator is designed for authors submitting manuscripts to *American Anthropologist*. It acts as a guide, routing the user through the necessary stages—from initial idea selection and literature positioning to theory building and ethical review. It ensures the final work maintains a required anthropological breadth, integrating reflexivity and ethics of care throughout the writing process.

A comprehensive guide for polishing academic manuscripts targeting the American Anthropologist (AA). It ensures the prose is readable across all anthropological subfields, adheres to Chicago author-date style, respects strict word counts (e.g., 200-word abstract), and incorporates inclusive, ethically sensitive language. Ideal for final drafting and submission preparation.

This guide helps researchers structure their discussion section and manuscript to explicitly articulate the theoretical contribution, moving beyond simple results reporting. It teaches how to identify, claim, and frame various types of theoretical advancements (e.g., new mechanisms, boundaries, or integrating literatures), ensuring the paper meets the high standards of top-tier academic journals like AMJ.

A comprehensive guide for drafting the formal rebuttal and response letter following a journal's revise-and-resubmit (R&R) decision, specifically tailored for AMJ standards. It teaches authors how to structure point-by-point responses to action editors and reviewers, reconcile conflicting demands, and strategically defend or deepen the manuscript's theoretical and methodological contributions while maintaining a professional and collegial tone.

Provides a comprehensive guide to the Academy of Management Journal (AMJ) editorial and peer-review process. It details the stages from desk review to final decision letter interpretation. Users learn how to distinguish between fatal and fixable concerns, prioritize the action editor's feedback, and strategically plan deep, multi-round revisions, turning feedback into actionable research improvements.

This comprehensive preflight checklist guides authors through the rigorous submission process for the Academy of Management Journal (AMJ). It covers crucial details such as double-blind anonymization, AOM house-style formatting (Times New Roman 12pt, double-spaced), ethical declarations (AI disclosure, IRB), and adherence to the ScholarOne portal requirements. Use this guide before finalizing your submission.

A structured guide for academic researchers to scope and sanity-check research ideas for top-tier management journals like the Academy of Management Journal (AMJ). It ensures the topic is theory-driven, empirically feasible, and addresses a theoretical tension, helping authors elevate a vague idea into a publishable, impactful scholarly question.

A comprehensive guide for academics on articulating the true theoretical novelty of a manuscript. It teaches authors how to rigorously answer 'What is new?' and 'So what?' by clearly differentiating their work from prior literature, ensuring the contribution is a genuine conceptual leap, not merely a relabeling or minor extension.

This skill guides the stress-testing of theoretical manuscripts by focusing purely on logical coherence. It helps authors develop robust arguments by verifying proposition chains, running counterfactual thought experiments, addressing rival theories, and identifying disconfirming cases. It ensures the internal consistency and rigor of a theory, independent of empirical data analysis.
