Skill UI

This skill guides the polishing and formatting of demography manuscripts for publication in academic journals. It ensures the prose is accessible to a general population scientist, adhering to strict house styles (loosely APA) and meeting specific word and structural limitations (e.g., abstract length, keyword count). It focuses on clarifying the main demographic process and contribution, rather than just reporting associations.

This guide provides comprehensive steps for preparing a camera-ready version of an accepted academic conference paper, such as those for the PACMMOD PODS track. It covers essential tasks including complete de-anonymization, applying final journal formatting, integrating required revisions, populating detailed metadata (ORCID, DOI, CCS concepts), and ensuring the full version is correctly posted and cross-linked on arXiv.

This skill guides users on elevating empirical findings (raw correlations) into robust, generalizable, and theoretically grounded arguments suitable for high-impact academic journals. It teaches how to explicitly define mechanisms, scope conditions, and observable implications to transform descriptive work into conceptual, mechanistic contributions.

A comprehensive guide for researchers preparing submissions to specialized academic journals, such as Perspectives on Psychological Science (PoPS). This guide details the strategic process of writing a proposal, differentiating between stand-alone, cooperative, and miscellaneous contributions. It teaches authors how to structure the core argument (the 'spine') and articulate the field's current need, ensuring submissions are timely, focused, and methodologically sound.

This comprehensive preflight checklist guides authors through the final submission requirements for academic journals, specifically targeting the Perspectives on Psychological Science (PoPS) format. It ensures compliance with critical standards including abstract word limits (200 words), APA formatting, open science data deposits, ethical declarations, and objective reviewer nominations. Use this before submitting to any scholarly portal.

This guide helps researchers determine if their academic idea is suitable for publication in Perspectives on Psychological Science (PoPS). It evaluates contributions against four critical criteria—Breadth, Integration, Provocation, and Tractability—ensuring the topic is a superordinate, theoretical, or meta-scientific argument, rather than a single empirical study. It helps refine the animating question and select the correct journal venue.
