This guide provides comprehensive guidelines for formatting academic manuscripts, specifically for Critical Inquiry (CI) submissions. It strictly adheres to the Chicago Manual of Style (17th ed.), mandating the use of consecutively numbered footnotes and eliminating the need for a separate works-cited list. It also covers best practices for submitting high-resolution figures (300 ppi JPEG/TIFF) and managing citations to ensure they contribute effectively to the word count and scholarly argument.

This skill guides the rigorous process of building and auditing dense legal footnote apparatus, specifically for Harvard Law Review (HLR) standards. It ensures every proposition is supported by the cited source at the exact page, verifies quote accuracy, and prepares a verifiable source file, making the submission 'pull-ready' for demanding academic review.

This skill provides a comprehensive guide to elevating academic legal writing to the rigorous standard of a Harvard Law Review (HLR). It focuses on structural discipline, including crafting compelling introductions (problem, claim, stakes, roadmap), maintaining the distinct text-vs-footnote division of labor, and adopting a plain, formal, and active prose style for maximum readability by generalist scholars.

This comprehensive guide outlines the strict formatting and stylistic requirements for submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Monetary Economics (JME). It covers mandatory details such as abstract word limits (under 100 words, no 'This paper' or 'We'), author-date citation rules, required formatting (double-spaced, line numbers, footnotes), and structural improvements for macroeconomists.

A comprehensive pre-submission checklist designed for academic authors preparing manuscripts for top-tier journals. It systematically verifies critical details such as footnote conventions, reference formatting, anonymity protocols, word count adherence, and the inclusion of supplementary data/code, ensuring compliance with the journal's most current submission guidelines.

A comprehensive guide detailing the rigorous, theory-specific peer review process for major academic journals. It explains the mechanics of masked peer review, the distinction between Theoretical Articles and Theoretical Notes, and anticipates the deep theoretical objections that reviewers—who are often rival model builders—will raise. Use this before submission or after receiving a decision letter to properly strategize revisions.

A comprehensive guide for drafting a response-to-referees letter and revision plan after receiving a major academic decision (R&R or reject-and-resubmit) from top-tier journals like REStat. It teaches the strategy of structuring evidence-based rebuttals, prioritizing core identification/measurement concerns, and handling conflicting referee demands to maximize acceptance chances. Note: This skill guides writing strategy, not new analysis.

A sophisticated guide for social science researchers to transition from empirical evidence (coefficients, fieldwork notes) to robust, theory-driven narrative. It teaches how to structure an argument by identifying the four core components: Actioner, Structural Condition, Mechanism, and Consequence. This method ensures the explanation moves beyond mere correlation to deeply explain *how* and *why* social outcomes are generated or reproduced.

This skill performs a rigorous audit of legal journal footnotes, verifying the existence, pinpoint accuracy, Bluebook formatting, and direct textual support for every citation. It is essential for manuscript preparation, particularly before a source-pull audit, ensuring the piece survives scholarly review without citation errors or integrity issues.

This skill acts as the central orchestrator for contributors to The Yale Law Journal (YLJ). It guides the user through the entire submission lifecycle, from initial topic selection and thesis development to Bluebook citation checking and final placement strategy. It emphasizes that submissions must be near-final, highly structured, and fully footnoted, directing the user to the appropriate skill path based on the article's track (Article, Note, Feature, etc.) and current stage.

This skill revises legal prose to match the high standards of major academic journals, ensuring clarity and readability for a generalist legal audience (e.g., non-specialist scholars, judges, and practitioners). It focuses on making the argument visible in the main text, maintaining a confident, plain voice, and properly balancing supporting material in footnotes with core reasoning in the body. Ideal for final polish passes before submission.

This skill transforms diverse raw source materials—such as articles, transcripts, and notes—into a highly structured summary suitable for a presentation or talk. It automatically detects the source type (Real-world Evidence or Conceptual Thesis), extracts the narrative arc, identifies key metrics, outlines main themes, and critically highlights potential gaps, providing a complete foundation for content creation.
