Provides comprehensive guidelines for drafting and revising academic manuscripts for New Media & Society (NM&S). It teaches authors how to structure arguments for an interdisciplinary audience, ensuring clarity, defining specialized jargon, and maintaining focus within a strict word limit. Ideal for revising introductions, clarifying theoretical concepts, and improving overall scholarly prose.

This guide provides a structured framework for authors aiming to submit manuscripts to Nature Geoscience. It details how to comply with strict journal limits on word count, display items, and references. By implementing a triage order—such as moving protocols to Online Methods and extended data to Supplementary Information—authors can ensure the main text remains focused, concise, and impactful.

This skill polishes scientific prose for manuscripts targeting top-tier journals like Nature Geoscience. It ensures the writing is highly accessible to non-specialists, while simultaneously maintaining rigorous scientific and methodological precision. It focuses on eliminating jargon, condensing wordy phrasing, adopting active voice, and calibrating all claims accurately to the presented evidence and uncertainty.

A specialized guide for authors preparing manuscripts for top-tier academic journals. This skill teaches how to structure and write the mandatory contribution statement (under 500 words), focusing on articulating the paper's overall contribution to the field rather than simply claiming novelty. It covers identifying the source of contribution (e.g., new data, mechanism, theory) and aligning the discussion section to match the high-stakes claim made in the statement.

A comprehensive checklist designed for authors submitting manuscripts to academic journals, specifically modeled after the requirements for Organization Studies (OS). It covers critical steps such as ensuring proper double-anonymization, adhering to strict word limits (e.g., 13,000 words), formatting guidelines (SAGE Harvard), and structuring abstracts and keywords. This tool ensures the manuscript is submission-ready before the final upload.

This comprehensive guide provides a structured framework for authors responding to major or minor revisions (R&R) decisions from academic journals. It teaches authors how to build a rigorous, point-by-point rebuttal letter that strengthens the core argument, integrates missed literature, and addresses reviewer concerns strategically, ensuring the revision elevates the research intervention rather than simply adding word count.

A comprehensive preflight checklist for authors submitting to academic journals, specifically modeled after the requirements for Progress in Human Geography (PiHG) via SAGE Track. It guides users through critical steps, including maintaining double-anonymity, confirming the genre (review article vs. empirical study), adhering to strict word counts (~8,000 words), and following specific style guides (SAGE Harvard). Use this tool immediately before the final upload to ensure submission compliance.

Provides expert guidance on structuring scholarly essays for major academic publications like PMLA. It helps writers organize complex arguments, ensuring a clear, compelling flow from problem statement to conclusion for a generalist academic readership. Essential for outlining or reorganizing sprawling drafts while adhering to strict word counts (6,000–9,000 words).

A comprehensive guide for crafting the PNAS-style scientific abstract. It details the required structure (single paragraph, ~250 words), the five-move narrative flow (Context, Gap, Approach, Results, Implication), and the critical distinction between the technical Abstract (What/How/Found) and the Significance Statement (Why it matters). Learn how to write accessible, quantified, and self-contained science summaries.

This guide teaches how to write the mandatory PNAS Significance Statement. It is a critical communication skill, requiring the author to distill complex scientific work into a short, non-technical paragraph (≤120 words). The goal is to explain the broader scientific importance and societal impact of the research to a broad, educated, non-specialist audience, distinctly different from the technical abstract.

This guide details the mandatory structure and best practices for submitting research articles to PNAS. It covers the proper order of sections (Title, Abstract, Introduction, Results, Discussion, etc.), how to manage length budgets, correctly place Materials and Methods within the main text, and ensure accurate Classification and keywords are chosen at submission.

A comprehensive guide for drafting scientific abstracts tailored for journals like PNAS Nexus. It details strict structural requirements, including maintaining a single paragraph format (max 250 words), ensuring self-containment, and presenting quantified results. Crucially, it distinguishes the abstract (What/How/Found) from the Significance Statement (Why it matters), helping authors polish their late-stage manuscripts for broad scientific audiences.
