Skill UI

This skill guides SOC analysts and detection engineers on how to correlate complex, multi-stage attacks within the IBM QRadar SIEM platform. It covers advanced usage of AQL (Ariel Query Language) for deep event investigation, building custom correlation rules (Building Blocks and Offenses), and cross-source data correlation (e.g., auth failures with network flows). It is essential for reducing false positives and improving threat detection accuracy.

This skill provides methods and tools for detecting sophisticated cyber attacks targeting Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS). It focuses on detecting anomalies like unauthorized command injection, Man-in-the-Middle attacks on industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3), and data manipulation, which traditional IT security tools often miss. Usage involves establishing deterministic communication baselines and monitoring network traffic for deviations.

This tool detects critical anomalies in DNP3 communications used within SCADA and ICS environments. It employs deep packet inspection and machine learning to monitor for unauthorized control commands, protocol violations, firmware update attempts, and deviations from established network baselines. It is essential for securing critical infrastructure, such as energy grids and industrial control networks, and building robust anomaly-based Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).

An advanced Intrusion Detection System (IDS) module designed for Operational Technology (OT) and ICS/SCADA environments. It monitors Modbus TCP/RTU traffic to detect unauthorized writes, anomalous function codes, malformed frames, and deviations from established communication baselines. Essential for investigating suspicious PLC register modifications and responding to industrial threats.

Deploy Zeek for passive network analysis to generate structured logs (DNS, HTTP, etc.). This tool detects behavioral anomalies like DNS tunneling or beaconing, complementing traditional signature-based IDS tools. It is ideal for threat hunting and incident response, feeding rich protocol metadata into SIEM platforms.

Structures completed intrusion investigations with the Diamond Model by documenting adversaries, capabilities, infrastructure, and victims plus their relationships, metadata, and pivots to cluster incidents and support campaign attribution, confidence scoring, and analytic write-ups.

A comprehensive guide detailing the methodology for identifying and exploiting Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF). This technique is critical in authorized penetration testing, allowing attackers to pivot from public-facing applications to internal resources. Use cases include stealing cloud provider metadata (AWS, GCP), scanning private IP ranges, and accessing internal APIs and admin panels.

This skill detects persistence mechanisms by monitoring Windows startup directories for suspicious file creation (T1547.001). It utilizes real-time file system monitoring via Python watchdog, cross-references Autoruns entries, and analyzes file metadata to identify implants that survive system reboots. Essential for threat hunting and validating security monitoring coverage.

Scans web server roots for high-entropy files, suspicious PHP/JSP/ASP payloads, and recent modifications to flag obfuscated webshells via entropy thresholds, regex signatures, and file metadata.

This skill covers implementing robust API abuse detection using advanced rate-limiting algorithms like Token Bucket and Sliding Window. It uses Redis for distributed counting and allows for adaptive limits, dynamically tightening during detected attacks and relaxing during normal traffic. Ideal for securing APIs against DDoS, brute force, and scraping attacks.

A comprehensive guide detailing how to implement Microsoft Defender for Cloud across various workloads (VMs, containers, SQL, storage) to achieve continuous security monitoring and compliance assessment. This process utilizes Azure Policy, Log Analytics, and Azure Arc for holistic protection, enabling adaptive remediation and meeting stringent regulatory requirements like PCI-DSS and CIS standards.

This comprehensive guide details the deployment and configuration of Tofino industrial firewalls to secure critical SCADA and PLC systems. It utilizes Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) capabilities for core OT protocols (Modbus, EtherNet/IP, S7comm), ensuring strict access control and enforcing IEC 62443 zone boundaries. Ideal for segmenting control networks and providing compensating controls for unpatchable legacy equipment.
