Provides a comprehensive guide for designing rigorous academic studies for high-impact journals. Whether planning multi-study behavioral experiments, interpretive Consumer Culture Theory (CCT) fieldwork, or mixed designs, this resource ensures that the evidence collected is optimally structured to support the conceptual claim, emphasizing internal validity and transparency.

A comprehensive guide designed to stress-test the causal identification of behavioral mechanisms for top-tier economic journals (e.g., JEBO). It provides stringent criteria across lab/field experiments, observational data (DiD, IV, RDD), and simulations, ensuring the design isolates the claimed psychological or institutional channel, not just a correlation. Use this when standard econometric methods are insufficient to prove mechanism causality.

This guide helps researchers structure and articulate the unique contribution of their work, specifically tailored for high-impact journals like JEBO. It focuses on building the 'what we knew / what was missing / what this adds' framework, ensuring that the contribution is positioned at the mechanism level, whether the work is novel, a reconciliation, or a bounded replication.

This guide helps researchers proactively anticipate the critical objections raised by academic journal referees, especially in behavioral economics. It covers key areas such as demand effects, mechanism separation, external validity, and determining proper journal fit, allowing authors to significantly strengthen their drafts before formal submission.

A comprehensive guide to structuring robustness checks for behavioral economics and empirical research. Instead of merely listing statistical tests, this framework mandates organizing checks by the underlying behavioral threat (e.g., experimenter demand, multiple comparisons, specification choice). It provides specific guidelines for experiments, observational data, and simulations, ensuring that findings are robust against alternative behavioral explanations and methodological choices.

This guide provides best practices for creating high-impact tables and figures (exhibits) for academic journals, especially in behavioral economics. It emphasizes visualizing the core behavioral comparison—such as treatment effects, dynamic changes over rounds, or underlying distributions—so the main finding is immediately visible before reading any text. Key practices include using confidence intervals over significance stars, ensuring grayscale readability, and providing self-contained captions.

This guide provides a rigorous framework for researchers to determine if their work constitutes a genuine health-economics contribution for a specialized journal like JHE. It moves beyond simply having health data, instead focusing on whether the core economic mechanism relates to insurance design, provider incentives, market structure, or health behaviors. It helps refine the research question and position the paper against other related fields.

A comprehensive guide for developing and defending research methodologies for top-tier academic journals, such as the Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS). It details how to properly design studies—whether they involve econometrics, behavioral experiments, or design-science artifacts—to establish credible causal identification and meet scholarly rigor, while adhering to strict manuscript length limits.

A guide for integrating behavioral theory into rigorous empirical studies. It outlines the necessary steps to move beyond descriptive findings of irrationality by constructing a statistically identifiable behavioral model (e.g., incorporating loss aversion parameters) and testing it against rational baselines using controlled, incentive-compatible experimental designs. Essential for submitting papers requiring model explanation of behavioral biases.

This guide helps researchers select and defend the appropriate empirical methodology for Operations Management (OM) studies. It covers diverse design types—including surveys, archival data analysis, behavioral experiments, field studies, and intervention-based research—ensuring the design is observation-grounded, matches the operational claim, and anticipates rigorous methodological checks.

A specialized tool for researchers aiming to publish in the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization (JEBO). It helps authors assess the suitability of their behavioral, institutional, or organizational economics manuscript by analyzing the journal's scope, methodological bar, required evidence, and formatting standards. It serves as a pre-submission re-framing and checklist mechanism.

This guide provides comprehensive methodology for advanced empirical analysis in Public Economics, particularly for manuscripts using large administrative or register microdata. It covers advanced topics like estimating behavioral elasticities, calculating welfare metrics (MVPF, DWL), and ensuring robust causal identification strategies. It emphasizes translating raw coefficients into policy-relevant quantities with rigorous uncertainty quantification.
