This comprehensive guide provides a detailed preflight checklist for submitting academic manuscripts to the Journal of Financial Economics (JFE). It walks authors through critical steps covering formatting standards (e.g., abstract length, citation style), ensuring anonymity, managing mandatory code/data deposits, and verifying submission requirements such as fees and target portals. Use this tool to ensure your paper is submission-ready.

This guide assists authors in preparing research materials for submission to the Journal of Financial Intermediation (JFI), adhering to Elsevier Option C. It provides detailed instructions on managing, depositing, citing, and linking research data, code, and algorithms—whether the data is public, proprietary, or restricted (e.g., central bank registers). The goal is to ensure methodological rigor and reproducibility through the Data Statement.

A comprehensive guide for authors writing empirical papers (especially in finance/economics). It teaches the critical skill of separating load-bearing claims (must be in the main text) from exhaustive supporting evidence (best placed in the Internet Appendix). It details how to build a fully reproducible package, including data lineage, codebooks, and documenting proprietary data access paths.

A mandatory guide for authors submitting to the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis (JFQA). This policy dictates the required archive structure, ensuring that all reported findings can be fully reproduced by depositing source code, raw or pseudo datasets, and a detailed execution roadmap in the JFQA Dataverse. It guarantees the highest standards of academic transparency and reproducibility in financial research.

This comprehensive checklist guides authors through the rigorous pre-submission process for the Journal of Financial Research. It covers critical academic elements such as adhering to specific word count limits (~20k), abstract formatting, JEL codes, and proper citation conventions. It also emphasizes maintaining double-blind anonymity and verifying structural consistency, ensuring the manuscript meets the journal's demanding standards before online submission.

A comprehensive guide for assembling reproducible research packages using restricted health data, such as Medicare claims or EHR data. This package focuses not on running the analysis, but on establishing a credible data access path, creating detailed Data Availability Statements (DAS), and ensuring code is shared and reproducible, which is crucial for publishing in health economics journals.

This comprehensive guide outlines the mandatory data and replication policies for submissions to the Journal of Human Resources (JHR). It details best practices for creating robust submission packages, including Data Availability Statements, code packages, and plans for public repository deposit. It ensures maximum reproducibility and adherence to CC0 licensing standards for academic research.

This comprehensive guide details the strict replication and data deposit policies required by the Journal of International Economics (JIE). It ensures that all components—including raw data, cleaning scripts, structural solver code, and master scripts—are properly deposited in a secure repository (like Mendeley Data) before publication acceptance, guaranteeing full research reproducibility.

A comprehensive guide for managing the highly critical stage of journal revision. This skill helps researchers decode editor feedback, strategically decide on necessary data collection (e.g., new countries, invariance tests), and structure a professional, point-by-point response letter that addresses every reviewer comment effectively while maintaining scholarly rigor.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting to international finance journals, detailing how to structure the online supplementary appendix and prepare the data-and-code deposit. It ensures that supporting material is organized, traceable to main claims, and that data accessibility statements are compliant with institutional policies, especially for restricted international data.

A comprehensive guide and package structure for preparing empirical law and economics manuscripts for journal submission, ensuring full data and code reproducibility prior to publication. It mandates the assembly of data files, transformation scripts, a master execution script, and detailed README documentation, explicitly addressing the unique challenges of restricted or proprietary legal data sources (e.g., sealed court records).

This guide details how to assemble a comprehensive, reproducible replication package for academic manuscripts, especially in fields relying on complex institutional data (e.g., court records, contracts). It mandates creating a one-command master script, documenting the entire data pipeline from raw sources to final exhibits, and providing detailed protocols for hand-coded variables and data provenance. The goal is to ensure that any researcher can perfectly reproduce every finding.
