A comprehensive guide for positioning computer science manuscripts for top-tier security conferences like USENIX Security. It covers core topics (systems, network, privacy, software security), required evidence (rigorous artifact, measurement, vulnerability analysis), and strategic advice on framing the work to meet adversarial reviewer expectations. Ideal for authors preparing high-stakes academic submissions.

A comprehensive guide detailing the mandatory and optional evaluation phases for academic security artifacts, such as those required for USENIX Security. It covers Phase-1 (availability) checks and Phase-2 (functionality, reproducibility) requirements. Provides best practices for structuring code, managing technical hazards (e.g., dangerous-by-default behavior), and ensuring verifiable, reproducible results for peer review.

This comprehensive guide details the academic submission lifecycle for USENIX Security. It maps out the multi-stage review pipeline, from initial submission through early rejection to final notification. It critically updates authors on the current decision vocabulary (e.g., Shepherd Approval, retired major revisions), emphasizing mandatory review foci like ethics adequacy, threat-model realism, and openness posture for strategic planning.

This guide outlines the strict formatting and structural guidelines for submitting security conference papers (like USENIX Security). It helps authors determine which material—core mechanisms, proofs, or supplementary data—must remain in the main body to guarantee review visibility, versus what can be safely demoted to optional appendices or external artifacts.

A comprehensive guide for designing and auditing visualization experiments for high-stakes academic submissions (e.g., IEEE VIS). It details how to match evidence—such as controlled studies, power analyses, and benchmarks—to the specific type of claim (perceptual, algorithmic, system). Learn best practices for statistical rigor, CVD-safe encoding, and maintaining full provenance to ensure your findings are scientifically sound and trustworthy.

A comprehensive project management guide for submitting academic papers, specifically tailored for the IEEE VIS conference cycle. It maps out all critical milestones, from initial area selection and abstract submission through to conditional acceptance revisions and final camera-ready preparation. Use this skill to responsibly plan for the annual cycle, manage reviewers' expectations, and mitigate common submission risks.

This guide outlines the rigorous process for authors responding to a "revise" verdict at top-tier academic conferences. It teaches authors how to treat reviewer feedback as a formal contract, manage a tight revision timeline, structure necessary experiments, and write a highly traceable change document that explicitly addresses every required point.

A comprehensive guide for designing and presenting highly rigorous technical evaluations for database or system papers. It covers establishing baseline necessity, proving mechanism causality through ablation, testing scalability across data sizes, and mandating the disclosure of loss cases to satisfy skeptical academic reviewers.

This comprehensive guide outlines the rigorous standards required for achieving experimental reproducibility in systems research papers (e.g., VLDB). It instructs authors on disclosing critical context, including hardware specifications, software configurations, data provenance, workload patterns, and handling measurement variance. Adhering to these guidelines ensures that all performance claims are fully traceable from raw data to published figures, meeting the highest standards of academic review.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting to academic conferences, addressing strict page limitations where appendices count against the core budget. It details best practices for distributing supplementary evidence across three external homes: the main paper, dedicated arXiv technical reports, and artifact repositories. The guide emphasizes maintaining self-containment, managing version discipline, and strategically cutting content to ensure the core claims are reviewable.

A comprehensive guide for structuring the 'Related Work' section in academic papers, especially in Computer Vision (CV). It teaches authors how to strategically position their research contribution by covering multiple literature shelves: vision methods, domain constraints, concurrent arXiv work, and prior art. This ensures the paper clearly defines a unique gap rather than merely listing citations, adhering to double-blind review standards.

Comprehensive guide detailing the end-to-end academic submission workflow for the WACV conference. This specialized workflow accounts for the two-round submission model, including key branching points like Round 1 reviews, optional rebuttals, Revise-and-Resubmit stages, Round 2 revisions, and final camera-ready preparation, which single-deadline plans often miss.
