This comprehensive guide outlines the rigorous methodology required for designing high-impact evaluations of parallel systems and algorithms for top-tier conferences. It stresses that contributions must demonstrate the 'twin bar': both concurrency correctness (e.g., linearizability) and measurable scalability (e.g., strong vs. weak scaling). It covers best practices for establishing strong baselines, managing measurement hygiene (variance, pinning), and anticipating advanced reviewer scrutiny in HPC.

This guide helps researchers determine the correct academic venue for their work in parallel and concurrent computing. It clarifies the scope of PPoPP versus related conferences (CGO, PLDI, ASPLOS, HPCA, POPL, etc.) by asking: 'Is the parallelism the point, or is it the setting?' Use this framework to distinguish contributions focused on parallel algorithms, compiler optimization, concurrency theory, or hardware microarchitecture.

This comprehensive guide helps authors determine the suitability and optimal presentation of their robotics scientific manuscripts for the Robotics: Science and Systems (RSS) conference. It provides strategic advice on conference positioning, defining the evidence bar, re-framing algorithmic or theoretical contributions, and addressing the specific needs of top-tier embodied systems reviewers.

This comprehensive guide outlines the strict criteria for submitting a paper to the SenSys conference after the 2026 merger. It clarifies that the core contribution must be a built, measured sensing or embedded system, demonstrating value based on physical resources like energy, memory, and latency on real hardware, rather than being a pure algorithm or networking mechanism.

This skill guides authors on strategically positioning data mining research for the SIAM International Conference on Data Mining (SDM). It helps adjust manuscript framing, emphasizing mathematical rigor, statistical depth, and algorithmic contribution suitable for top Computer Science venues. Use it for venue selection, understanding reviewer expectations, and structuring evidence to meet the high standards of SIAM-style research.

This skill provides comprehensive guidance for authors submitting highly rigorous theoretical computer science manuscripts to top-tier venues like SIAM Journal on Computing (SICOMP). It covers required standards for algorithmic design, computational complexity, formal proofs, house style, and the high bar for theoretical contribution necessary for foundational academic publishing.

A comprehensive guide for researchers developing systems or algorithms, detailing the necessary level of evidence required for performance claims (e.g., bounds, real-world performance, learning guarantees). It emphasizes scientific rigor, statistical reporting (confidence intervals), assumption testing, and data provenance to ensure findings are robust and reproducible in academic settings.

This guide helps researchers determine the most appropriate venue (e.g., SIGMETRICS, NSDI, IMC, NeurIPS) for their computer systems performance evaluation research. It emphasizes that contributions must be rigorous performance-evaluation results—such as proven models, principled measurements, or guaranteed learning algorithms—rather than merely built systems or pure network measurements.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting to SODA (ACM-SIAM Symposium on Discrete Algorithms). It clarifies the rules for including computational evidence, distinguishing between proofs relying on computation, supporting implementations, and full experimental contributions. It emphasizes using verifiable certificates and structuring the submission for rigorous, independent review.

This guide provides a comprehensive framework for positioning theoretical algorithms research in top-tier venues like SODA. It details how to conduct a rigorous "related work" review, covering bound lineages across conference proceedings, journal publications, and arXiv preprints. Learn best practices for citing dual-version results, managing priority claims, and writing scholarly prose to establish your result's state-of-the-art status.

This skill provides a comprehensive framework for ensuring the mathematical verifiability of advanced algorithms papers (like those submitted to SODA). It guides authors to establish a complete, checkable argument, documenting every claim, explicit model assumption, constant status, and providing machine-checkable steps. It moves beyond simple claims of accuracy to mandate full, reproducible proof structures.

This guide details the rigorous, multi-stage academic review process for submissions to top-tier conferences like SODA (Symposium on Discrete Algorithms). It covers the entire lifecycle, from initial submission and abstract assignment to deep technical refereeing, author rebuttal phases, and final PC decision-making. It provides actionable advice on writing style, addressing reviewer comments, and improving borderline papers.
