This skill provides comprehensive, structured audit logging for OpenRouter API interactions. It automatically captures essential metadata like total cost, token usage, model details, latency, and status, while also performing PII redaction. The resulting audit trail is stored in an append-only SQLite database, making it ideal for building compliance-ready systems, detailed cost monitoring, and deep debugging of production environments.

A comprehensive guide on implementing failover and fallback mechanisms for Large Language Models (LLMs) when using OpenRouter. This skill covers native model fallbacks, provider routing strategies, and advanced client-side fallback chains. Use this pattern when building mission-critical or highly resilient systems that must maintain service availability even if a primary model or an entire provider goes offline. It ensures robust API integration and graceful degradation.

Implements standardized function/tool calling across various large language models (LLMs) via OpenRouter. This unified approach allows developers to build sophisticated, multi-step agents and complex workflows, regardless of the underlying provider (e.g., GPT-4o, Claude 3.5). It simplifies the process of achieving structured output and tool-augmented reasoning in production systems.

This skill provides comprehensive methods for implementing intelligent model routing using the OpenRouter API. It allows developers to dynamically select the optimal Large Language Model (LLM) based on specific criteria: task complexity (e.g., classification, code generation), required capability (e.g., deep reasoning vs. simple Q&A), cost budget, and latency tolerance. Implement cost-aware, task-based, and complexity-based routing to maximize system efficiency and minimize operational expenses when building multi-model applications.

A comprehensive guide on handling API rate limits and throttling errors (429) when building high-throughput systems, particularly for LLM APIs like OpenRouter. This skill covers best practices, including using exponential backoff, implementing custom client-side rate limiters (Token Bucket), and managing concurrent requests for stable, reliable performance.

This skill provides comprehensive reference architectures for building production-grade AI applications using OpenRouter as a unified LLM gateway. It covers three scaling patterns: simple single-service, standard microservice (with caching and budget enforcement), and enterprise event-driven systems (with message queues and workers). Use this when planning system design, reviewing complex AI pipelines, or ensuring scalability and cost control in your LLM integration.

This skill implements a sophisticated, config-driven rules engine for OpenRouter API calls. It dynamically determines the optimal large language model (LLM) by evaluating a comprehensive context, including user subscription tier, remaining cost budget, specific task type (code, chat), required tools, and latency requirements. This is essential for building production-grade, cost-aware, and robust LLM orchestration systems.

This workflow executes a single-query search using the Perplexity Sonar model, ensuring all returned answers are web-grounded and accompanied by inline citations. It is essential for building high-trust applications, fact-checking tools, or any system requiring verifiable, real-time information retrieval. The process includes API interaction, detailed response parsing (answer, citations, search results), and formatting the output into a usable, source-linked format.

This guide outlines the comprehensive reference architecture for building advanced, AI-powered search and research applications, modeled after Perplexity. It covers three core tiers: a searchable service with model routing and caching, a citation pipeline for validation and rendering, and an orchestrator for multi-query research synthesis. Use this when designing complex, production-grade, search-augmented LLM integrations or reviewing advanced system patterns.

This skill enables the development of robust, event-driven pipelines interacting with the Perplexity Sonar API. Since Perplexity lacks native webhooks, this system simulates event patterns using advanced techniques: Streaming Server-Sent Events (SSE) for real-time data, job queues (like BullMQ/SQS) for asynchronous batch research, and cron-triggered monitoring for scheduled news and trend alerts. It provides patterns for building complex, reliable, and scalable AI applications.

This skill provides comprehensive expertise for senior database administrators to optimize and manage PostgreSQL databases at an advanced level. Use it for deep query analysis via EXPLAIN ANALYZE, implementing advanced features like JSONB indexing, configuring streaming or logical replication, and maintaining database health through VACUUM tuning and monitoring pg_stat views. Ideal for building highly available, high-performance, and resilient system architectures.

This skill specializes in designing, optimizing, and evaluating prompts for Large Language Models (LLMs). It allows users to generate optimized prompt templates, structured output schemas (e.g., JSON mode, function calling), and comprehensive test suites. Use this skill when building new LLM applications, implementing complex reasoning patterns like Chain-of-Thought, defining system guardrails, or building robust evaluation frameworks to measure and improve model performance.
