This workflow converts complex clinical encounter notes into plain-language, patient-facing After-Visit Summaries (AVS). It structures key information such as diagnosis, next steps, and medications. The system supports multi-language translation and facilitates pushing the final, readable summary directly to patient portals using FHIR standards.

This guide provides a comprehensive blueprint for deploying the Abridge clinical AI integration to highly secure, HIPAA-compliant cloud infrastructure. It covers best practices for healthcare deployments, including utilizing BAA-covered services (GCP Cloud Run), robust secret management via GCP Secret Manager, and implementing VPC-restricted networking for maximum data security.

This minimal working example demonstrates Abridge's ambient AI clinical documentation capabilities. It simulates a complete patient encounter session, allowing users to submit transcripts and receive a highly structured clinical note. Ideal for testing EHR connectivity, verifying AI workflow, or learning how structured medical data (SOAP notes, ICD/CPT codes) is automatically generated from free-text conversation.

This guide details the process of setting up authentication and integration credentials for the Abridge clinical AI platform. It covers prerequisites for connecting to major EHR systems (Epic, Athena) using FHIR R4 APIs and implements OAuth 2.0 (SMART on FHIR) flows, ensuring secure, HIPAA-compliant data handling for ambient documentation.

This workflow establishes a comprehensive local environment for developing and testing clinical AI integrations. It simulates an Electronic Health Record (EHR) using a local HAPI FHIR server and utilizes synthetic patient data. Developers can iterate on complex encounter workflows and API connections safely, without ever using real Protected Health Information (PHI).

Provides structured methods and code examples to optimize Abridge's clinical AI integration for high-volume, enterprise deployments. Focuses on reducing critical latencies across the entire workflow, including audio streaming throughput, note generation pipelines, and secure FHIR push operations, ensuring scalability for large health systems.

A comprehensive readiness checklist for deploying clinical AI systems, such as Abridge, within regulated healthcare environments. It covers critical aspects including HIPAA compliance, Business Associate Agreements (BAA), EHR integration validation (FHIR R4), robust infrastructure security (TLS 1.3, secrets management), and provides structured scripts for pre-launch validation and post-launch rollback planning.

Provides a comprehensive architectural blueprint for integrating ambient AI solutions (Abridge) into multi-site health systems. It guides the full process from ambient audio capture to structured note generation, covering data flow, component design, FHIR R4 standards, HIPAA compliance, and integration patterns with major EHRs like Epic and Athena.

This pattern library provides production-ready, structured patterns for integrating with the Abridge clinical AI API. It establishes type-safe client wrappers, implements mandatory HIPAA-compliant audit logging (ensuring no Protected Health Information, or PHI, is logged), and incorporates robust error handling with exponential backoff retries. Use this when building secure, scalable, and standards-compliant healthcare AI applications.

This skill provides comprehensive guidance on implementing HIPAA-compliant security measures for Abridge clinical AI integrations. It covers critical areas such as enforcing TLS 1.3 encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, implementing role-based access controls (RBAC), detailed PHI-safe audit logging, and best practices for secrets management, ensuring full compliance with HIPAA regulations.

A comprehensive guide detailing procedures for upgrading Abridge API versions and migrating between disparate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. It covers zero-downtime API versioning strategies (e.g., canary rollout) and outlines high-risk, multi-step procedures for ensuring seamless clinical documentation data continuity during EHR cutovers.

A comprehensive advisor for Hospital IT Managers and Digital Health Leaders. This skill guides digital transformation across the entire healthcare lifecycle, focusing on achieving clinical safety, compliance (HIMSS, ONA, JCI), and maximizing operational value. It covers everything from HIS/PEP integration (MV-SOUL, Tasy) and interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7) to advanced security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and legal compliance (LGPD). Ideal for planning digital roadmaps and ensuring high-availability for life-critical systems.
