This guide provides a comprehensive framework for positioning robotics research papers for top-tier conferences like IROS, ICRA, and CoRL. It teaches authors how to audit novelty by comparing their work against multiple related systems—not just the nearest component—and how to handle archival overlap, concurrent work, and anonymity requirements in double-blind review processes. It emphasizes defining the system contribution across multiple robotics lanes.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting to health economics journals, focusing on pre-submission pre-mortem analysis. It teaches how to anticipate specific, expert-level critiques—such as selection bias, concurrent confounding, or econometric limitations—and proactively structure the manuscript to neutralize these objections before they are raised by reviewers.

Provides a comprehensive framework for conducting and reporting robustness checks in health economics studies. It guides authors to organize findings by addressing specific threats to the core claim (e.g., selection bias, concurrent policy changes, measurement error) rather than simply appending multiple specifications. Essential for ensuring results are stable and defensible for top-tier journal submissions.

A comprehensive guide for positioning security research submissions (e.g., for NDSS, USENIX). It teaches how to write the 'Related Work' section not as a mere literature review, but as a critical security argument that establishes genuine novelty (the 'delta') by distinguishing mechanisms, layers, and preconditions from prior art. Covers citation verification, handling concurrent work, and double-blind anonymity rules.

A comprehensive guide detailing the strategic and technical requirements for submitting research papers to major conferences like OOPSLA. It covers critical steps such as selecting the correct submission round, adhering to strict formatting rules (e.g., page limits), proactively maintaining double-anonymity, properly filing Data-Availability Statements, and managing complex revision or concurrent submissions to maximize acceptance chances.

This guide directs authors on how to structure the related work section for academic papers in database theory (e.g., for venues like PODS, ICDT). It emphasizes a 'delta-first' approach, requiring authors to compare their specific *results* (theorems, bounds, dichotomies) directly against the nearest prior *results*, rather than simply cataloging related citations. It also covers complex rules regarding self-citation, anonymity, and overlap declaration with concurrent or prior-version work.

A comprehensive guide for researchers detailing how to structure the 'Related Work' section for top-tier parallel computing conferences like PPoPP. It emphasizes 'delta-first' comparison, covering specific technical lanes (concurrent data structures, runtimes, GPU acceleration, memory models), and ensuring proper academic positioning against major parallel systems venues.

This guide helps researchers determine the correct academic venue for their work in parallel and concurrent computing. It clarifies the scope of PPoPP versus related conferences (CGO, PLDI, ASPLOS, HPCA, POPL, etc.) by asking: 'Is the parallelism the point, or is it the setting?' Use this framework to distinguish contributions focused on parallel algorithms, compiler optimization, concurrency theory, or hardware microarchitecture.

A comprehensive guide for structuring the Related Work section for top-tier recommender systems conferences (RecSys). It advises authors on auditing novelty by positioning their contribution against adjacent research fields (e.g., SIGIR, KDD, WSDM), addressing critical lines (like reproducibility and off-policy evaluation), and ensuring the work is technically distinct from prior or concurrent studies.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting to top-tier database conferences (like SIGMOD) on how to position their research. It covers deep-history diligence, managing concurrent work, and structuring the related-work section using contrast-form writing to establish clear novelty claims against multiple literature lines, including industrial systems and theoretical boundaries.

This guide provides expert advice on structuring and writing the 'Related Work' section for top-tier systems conferences (like SOSP/OSDI). It emphasizes shifting from simple citation lists to structural positioning, requiring authors to identify precise differences (e.g., assumption, mechanism, guarantee) between their work and existing research. It also covers academic lineage tracing, double-blind citation rules, and handling concurrent work.

A comprehensive guide for structuring the 'Related Work' section in academic papers, especially in Computer Vision (CV). It teaches authors how to strategically position their research contribution by covering multiple literature shelves: vision methods, domain constraints, concurrent arXiv work, and prior art. This ensures the paper clearly defines a unique gap rather than merely listing citations, adhering to double-blind review standards.
