Skill UI

This comprehensive router guides authors through the entire lifecycle of a rigorous development economics manuscript targeted at The World Bank Economic Review (WBER). It outlines the ideal sequence of specialized skills—from initial topic selection and literature positioning to establishing credible causal identification, managing robustness checks, and preparing the final submission package and rebuttal letter, ensuring the paper meets WBER's demanding standards.

This guide provides a comprehensive framework for authors writing for development economics journals, specifically addressing the need to bridge the gap between rigorous econometric analysis and actionable policy advice. It teaches how to structure introductions, write concise abstracts, and frame findings by emphasizing policy magnitudes over statistical significance, ensuring the work speaks to both technical economists and non-specialist policymakers.

webmcpify is a specialized pipeline designed to make existing web applications agent-ready. It extracts user-facing functionality and exposes it as WebMCP tools, allowing AI agents to interact with the application via structured, reliable tool calls rather than fragile DOM scraping. The tool guides developers through detection, inventory, integration, verification, and healing phases to ensure robust AI interoperability.

This skill is a specialized guide used by authors to evaluate the fit and required rigor for submitting development economics manuscripts to the World Bank Economic Review (WBER). It assesses the manuscript's alignment with the journal's focus on policy-relevant empirical micro and macro research, covering methodological standards (RCTs, IV, DiD), required policy framing, and structural formatting.

This skill assesses whether a manuscript is suitable for World Development, a leading multidisciplinary development-studies journal. It guides authors on re-framing their work to focus on real-world development problems, policy relevance, and global issues (e.g., poverty, climate, governance). It clarifies the required balance between rigorous methodology and multidisciplinary, actionable insights for a broad academic readership.

This guide outlines the rigorous standards for establishing causal claims in development economics and social sciences. It covers robust quantitative methods (like DID, IV, RDD, RCT) and structured qualitative/mixed-methods approaches. The core principle is that the logical route from evidence to claim must be explicitly defensible and matched to the strength of the assertion, avoiding over-claiming.

This guide helps researchers position their work within the broader, multidisciplinary development conversation. It teaches how to move beyond simply presenting new data or techniques, focusing instead on bridging disciplines (e.g., economics and political science) and identifying the core conceptual contribution that a non-specialist can grasp. It is crucial for manuscripts aiming for high-impact development journals.

A comprehensive guide for authors responding to major or minor revisions following peer review at top-tier journals (e.g., World Development). It teaches how to structure the rebuttal letter, synthesize conflicting referee demands (methodology vs. context), and strategically triage feedback—conceding, strengthening, or defending—to maximize the chance of publication.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting to World Development (WD) and similar cross-disciplinary journals. It helps authors anticipate and proactively address the diverse and often conflicting objections from double-anonymized, multidisciplinary reviewers (e.g., methodologists vs. contextualists). The strategy covers strengthening methodology, embedding clear development contributions, and structuring the argument to minimize rejection risk.

A comprehensive guide for preparing replication and transparency packages for World Development manuscripts. It provides checklists and best practices for both quantitative (code reproducibility, data provenance, de-identification) and qualitative (evidence-to-claim trail, methods appendix) research. It addresses ethical constraints and the unique challenges of double-anonymized review.

This comprehensive guide provides authors with structured frameworks for assessing robustness and trustworthiness in World Development manuscripts. It guides users to organize checks by identifying specific threats (e.g., specification dependence, measurement error) in quantitative work, or demonstrating methodological rigor (e.g., triangulation, negative-case analysis) in qualitative work. It ensures findings are thoroughly vetted against alternative explanations.

A comprehensive guide designed for authors preparing manuscripts for submission to World Development (WD) via Elsevier Editorial Manager. This checklist ensures authors complete the required steps for double-anonymization, verify abstract/keyword limits, and properly include all necessary declarations (e.g., funding, ethics, conflict of interest) before final submission.
