This guide provides advanced methodological principles for conducting theoretically grounded heterogeneity analysis in financial research. It emphasizes that any dimension used for splitting the data (e.g., ownership, bank type, financial constraint) must be predicted by the underlying economic mechanism, rather than being an arbitrary data exploration. It details best practices, statistical rigor (group coefficient difference testing), and common pitfalls to avoid.

This guide provides advanced econometric methodologies crucial for establishing causality in financial and macro research, particularly when analyzing policy shocks (e.g., LPR changes, regulatory reforms). It details the correct application of Difference-in-Differences (DID), Instrumental Variables (IV), Regression Discontinuity Design (RDD), and high-frequency analysis, ensuring robust empirical design for top-tier journals.

A comprehensive guide for rigorous causal inference in health policy research. It details advanced econometric methodologies—including Difference-in-Differences (DiD), Regression Discontinuity Design (RDD), and Instrumental Variables (IV)—and addresses critical issues like selection bias and institutional realism. This resource helps ensure that empirical claims meet the highest standards required by top-tier health economics journals.

This guide provides an advanced framework for positioning empirical research findings against established academic literature, particularly for high-impact journals. It instructs authors to move beyond simple citation by quantitatively reconciling differences in estimates (magnitude, sign, significance). By explicitly identifying disparities in sample design, population, or underlying mechanisms, this methodology significantly strengthens the paper's academic rigor and perceived contribution.

This tool guides researchers on whether their academic topic aligns with the scope of an empirical microeconomics journal, specifically the Journal of Human Resources (JHR). It emphasizes that the research must focus on policy-relevant, causal questions in core fields (e.g., labor, health, education), strictly differentiating it from purely organizational behavior or 'HR management' studies. It serves as a critical gatekeeper before formal submission.

This methodology provides a rigorous guide for developing cross-national theoretical frameworks for international marketing research. It teaches researchers how to move beyond merely reporting observed differences across countries. Instead, users must pre-theorize the underlying mechanisms (e.g., cultural values, institutional voids, economic maturity) that predict cross-national variation, ensuring hypotheses are architecturally sound and testable for high-impact academic journals.

A comprehensive guide to establishing credible causal identification in empirical law and economics (L&E). It addresses the high institutional bar required by top journals, detailing how to defend the source of variation (e.g., reforms, governance choices, court assignments) against common threats like endogenous timing, selection bias, and omitted variables. Covers advanced methods including staggered Difference-in-Differences (DiD), Instrumental Variables (IV), and Regression Discontinuity Design (RDD).

This guide helps researchers sharpen and validate their research questions to ensure they meet the rigorous standards of top marketing journals (like JM). It focuses on testing for substantive importance, dual relevance (bridging theory and practice), and overall fit, helping users differentiate if their work belongs in JM, JMR, Marketing Science, or elsewhere. It emphasizes an empirics-first approach.

This comprehensive guide serves as a preflight checklist for submitting scholarly articles to academic journals, specifically detailing the requirements for the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking (JMCB). It covers essential details such as manuscript formatting (page limits, citation styles), navigating submission portals (Editorial Express), preparing data exemption requests, and clarifying the difference between submission fees and Open Access APCs. Use this guide before final submission to ensure compliance and maximize acceptance chances.

A comprehensive guide for economists and researchers on determining if their work concerning monetary policy, banking, credit, or macro-finance is a suitable fit for the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking (JMCB). It teaches how to structure arguments, identify clear policy stakes, and differentiate the unique scope of JMCB from similar academic outlets.

This guide teaches authors how to strategically position their research contribution for top-tier management journals. It emphasizes moving beyond simple 'gap-spotting' to 'problematization'—challenging existing assumptions within a focused academic conversation. It also provides detailed advice on how to differentiate the work from contributions appropriate for sibling journals (AMJ, SMJ, etc.), significantly boosting publication chances.

A comprehensive guide for authors navigating the JMIS editorial process. It explains the EIC-led, double-anonymized review structure, detailing how to interpret critical feedback related to identification, construct validity, and scope. This resource helps set realistic expectations regarding submission posture, revision strategies, and expected timelines, helping authors differentiate fatal framing issues from fixable evidence gaps.
