Skill UI

A comprehensive guide for authors targeting top-tier security conferences like NDSS. This skill helps determine manuscript fit, refine the academic framing, strengthen evidence, and understand venue-specific expectations (e.g., realistic attacker models, empirical validation). It serves as a strategic tool for conference submission planning, comparing submissions against related venues like USENIX Security and CCS.

This guide outlines the rigorous standards for writing top-tier distributed systems conference papers. It details the mandatory narrative arc—moving from an operational pain point to a named design principle—and emphasizes that every claim must be supported by precise, measured evidence (e.g., percentiles and specific workloads) rather than relying on superlatives or vague adjectives. It also provides guidance on structuring the argument, budgeting page space, and designing figures as core evidence.

A comprehensive guide for positioning research in distributed-computing theory, specifically for conferences like PODC. It details how to move beyond topic listings to defining a precise 'delta' by comparing models, bounds, and costs against prior art. Crucial advice includes distinguishing between different synchrony models, fault tolerances, and handling self-citation in double-blind reviews.

This guide details the rigorous and single-shot review process for ACM's Principles of Distributed Computing (PODC). Unlike venues with major revision rounds, PODC focuses entirely on the strength of the proof, the significance of the result, and the honesty of the model. It outlines the criteria (correctness, novelty, tightness) and emphasizes that all necessary work must be completed pre-submission, as there are no post-acceptance revision cycles.

This guide helps researchers navigate the complex landscape of academic publishing in distributed computing. It provides detailed criteria to differentiate between major specialized venues (like PODC, DISC, SPAA) and general systems conferences (ICDCS, OSDI). By analyzing the model, cost measure, and nature of the proof (e.g., provable guarantees, impossibility results), users can determine the best fit for their theoretical contribution, thereby avoiding common submission mistakes and maximizing impact.

This guide outlines the stringent structural requirements for writing papers on distributed systems theory, specifically for top-tier conferences like PODC. It details how to front-load the core arguments, define the model box rigorously (network, timing, fault model), structure proofs logically, and ensure the key results are visible within the critical first 10 pages.

A comprehensive guide for positioning academic papers in highly competitive technical fields, particularly networking and distributed systems. Learn how to systematically sweep major venues (SIGCOMM, NSDI, MobiCom, etc.), rigorously prove every prior work via dblp/ACM DL, and articulate clear novelty by distinguishing core mechanisms from mere engineering polish. Essential for top-tier conference submissions.

Guidelines for ensuring academic proofs are completely verifiable by third parties, especially when theorems are distributed across multiple documents (e.g., extended abstract and full version). It emphasizes single-source builds, preventing statement drift, and detailing computational determinism requirements for maximum rigor in theoretical computer science research.

This skill acts as a comprehensive guide for authors targeting the USENIX Symposium on Networked Systems Design and Implementation (NSDI). It helps authors assess the fit of their research in networked, distributed, or cloud systems, providing strategic advice on paper reframing, required levels of evidence (e.g., real-scale deployment), and accurate positioning relative to closely related conferences like OSDI and SIGCOMM. It is a critical tool for optimizing conference submission chances.

This skill provides a comprehensive guide for authors targeting the USENIX Symposium on Operating Systems Design and Implementation (OSDI). It helps in positioning complex systems research, covering core scope areas like operating systems, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure. It details how to frame the contribution, build evidence (artifacts, baselines), and distinguish the work from similar top-tier venues like SOSP and NSDI.

A specialized downstream skill for CTF-sandbox workflows. Used to analyze complex security challenges driven by AI agent interactions, prompt injection, or infrastructure vulnerabilities. Focuses on tracing control chains involving untrusted input, tool side effects, deployment drift, container runtime issues, and CI/CD supply chain provenance. Ideal for rigorous vulnerability assessment in modern, distributed systems.

A specialized skill for analyzing and reproducing complex, timing-dependent bugs in concurrent systems. Use this to investigate race windows, ordering bugs, lock gaps, stale reads, or state inconsistencies where the final outcome depends critically on request timing or asynchronous execution order. Essential for deep security auditing and debugging of distributed transactions.
