A comprehensive guide to designing highly defensible and causal research studies for top-tier finance journals, such as the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis (JFQA). It covers advanced econometric methods for corporate finance, asset pricing, and policy shocks, including Fixed Effects, Staggered Difference-in-Differences (DID), Instrumental Variables (IV), and Regression Discontinuity Design (RDD). Focuses on addressing endogeneity, reporting economic magnitude, and ensuring robust inference.

A detailed guide for authors submitting to the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis (JFQA). It teaches how to precisely position a quantitative finance paper against the existing academic literature, moving beyond simple surveys to define a sharp, unique contribution gap for reviewers. Focuses on structuring the argument using a 'three-paragraph compression' method.

A mandatory guide for authors submitting to the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis (JFQA). This policy dictates the required archive structure, ensuring that all reported findings can be fully reproduced by depositing source code, raw or pseudo datasets, and a detailed execution roadmap in the JFQA Dataverse. It guarantees the highest standards of academic transparency and reproducibility in financial research.

A comprehensive guide detailing the manuscript submission process for the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis (JFQA). It outlines the double-anonymous peer review model, the role of the seven Managing Editors, the economic implications of submission fees, and the low acceptance rate (<9%). Use this guide to set accurate expectations, correctly interpret decision letters (desk reject, R&R), and prepare for the rigorous academic screening process.

Pre-submission checklist for the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis (JFQA) via Editorial Manager: verifies text-searchable PDF, 8.5x11/1-inch/12-pt Times New Roman double-spaced formatting, double-anonymous anonymization, ≤100-word abstract, $350 fee, prior-rejection disclosure, and code-sharing exception timing. Does not draft content.

A comprehensive guide for formatting tables and figures for submissions to the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis (JFQA). This skill ensures that all exhibits are self-contained, adhere to rigorous academic standards, and meet strict formatting requirements (e.g., stating economic magnitudes, winsorization, and clustering methods) for double-anonymous review.

Use this skill to rigorously evaluate whether a finance research question meets the high quantitative and empirical standards required by the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis (JFQA). It guides authors through a comprehensive checklist, assessing financial object, quantitative core, identification feasibility, and novelty, helping authors optimize their academic contribution before investing time and submission fees.

This skill guides authors through the rigorous, multi-stage submission process for the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis (JFQA). It acts as a detailed router, providing the necessary next steps—from topic selection and identifying credible design (DID, IV, RDD) to structuring the contribution, managing data archives, and preparing the rebuttal. It ensures manuscripts meet the high quantitative and academic standards required by this top-tier finance journal.

This skill adapts scholarly drafts to the specific, rigorous style of the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis (JFQA). It enforces quantitative prose, strict formatting (e.g., 100-word abstract, TNR 12pt, double-spacing), and structural rules necessary for high-impact finance submissions. Use it to polish content, ensure precision, and guarantee compliance with top academic journal standards.

This guide provides advanced methodological principles for conducting theoretically grounded heterogeneity analysis in financial research. It emphasizes that any dimension used for splitting the data (e.g., ownership, bank type, financial constraint) must be predicted by the underlying economic mechanism, rather than being an arbitrary data exploration. It details best practices, statistical rigor (group coefficient difference testing), and common pitfalls to avoid.

This guide provides advanced econometric methodologies crucial for establishing causality in financial and macro research, particularly when analyzing policy shocks (e.g., LPR changes, regulatory reforms). It details the correct application of Difference-in-Differences (DID), Instrumental Variables (IV), Regression Discontinuity Design (RDD), and high-frequency analysis, ensuring robust empirical design for top-tier journals.

A specialized guide for advanced academic research, focusing on moving beyond generic mediation regression. It teaches methods to identify and empirically prove specific financial transmission channels (e.g., credit, risk-taking, balance sheet, information) required by top-tier financial journals. This ensures the mechanism analysis is grounded in concrete, measurable financial variables.
