This tool helps researchers diagnose whether their empirical or theoretical result meets the high standards required for top-tier academic journals like Econometrica. It guides users to evaluate the generality, methodological novelty, and theoretical depth of their work, ensuring the contribution is a generalizable estimator or theorem, not merely an application.

A structured guide for authors on how to frame the central findings of an Econometric Theory (ET) paper. It ensures that the contribution is clearly articulated by defining the underlying problem, stating the main theorem and its scope, identifying the generality delta, and discussing practical implications, meeting the rigorous standards of top academic journals.

This guide offers a rigorous framework for structuring advanced econometric theory papers. It details how to move beyond simple identification by defining minimal, defensible assumptions, proving advanced limit theorems (e.g., FCLT, high-dimensional limits), and ensuring the result's generality across various data regimes (stationary, nonstationary, semiparametric). Use this when theoretical rigor is the primary challenge.

This skill guides researchers on how to position a new econometric theorem by rigorously comparing it against the existing theoretical literature frontier. Instead of a general survey, it requires defining the 'delta'—the specific element (e.g., weaker assumptions, broader scope, generalization) that distinguishes the new result from prior work, using formal APA author-date citations. Essential for high-level academic manuscripts.

This guide helps researchers determine if their econometric result is a general, foundational theory contribution (such as asymptotics or proofs) or merely an applied estimate. It provides a framework for assessing theoretical rigor, identifying generalizations, and deciding whether the work fits a full Article or a concise Miscellanea, ensuring proper submission targeting for top-tier journals.

This guide helps researchers determine the optimal publication venue for their econometrics research. It provides detailed rules for assessing whether a paper's contribution is best suited for The Econometrics Journal (EctJ), a general econometrics journal, a theory journal, or a specific field journal. It emphasizes distinguishing between methods with leading-case applied value, purely theoretical proofs, and general empirical findings to improve publication chances.

This skill guides users through strengthening the causal identification strategy of empirical economic manuscripts (DiD, IV, RDD, Experiments). It helps audit research designs against general academic credibility standards, ensuring that assumptions, potential biases, and the link between data variation and causal objects are explicitly stated and robustly defended for diverse expert audiences.

This guide provides a structured framework for authors to sharpen the narrative of their academic contribution, particularly for high-impact journals. It teaches the 'two-layer positioning': creating a broad-interest hook for general readers, and defining a precise marginal delta against 3-5 specific, current frontier papers. It transforms vague related-work sections into compelling, verifiable arguments.

A comprehensive guide for economists on refining theoretical models and structures for publication in high-impact journals. It provides rigorous best practices for developing pure economic theory, executing structural quantitative modeling, and ensuring models effectively interpret empirical estimates, focusing on generalizability and interpretability.

This guide helps researchers determine if their academic topic possesses sufficient breadth of interest for major, general-interest economics journals, such as the European Economic Review (EER). It provides frameworks and checklists to diagnose whether a contribution is too niche or if it can be successfully reframed to appeal to a non-specialist audience, ensuring it passes initial desk-reject filters.

This comprehensive workflow router guides researchers through the entire lifecycle of preparing a manuscript for the European Economic Review (EER). It systematically diagnoses bottlenecks and maps the optimal sequence of specialized skills—from refining the general-interest topic, building causal identification, strengthening theory models, checking robustness, to mastering the writing style and managing the final submission package. It ensures the academic output meets the high standards of a top-tier economics journal.

This guide provides best practices for revising academic manuscripts intended for top-tier economics journals, such as the European Economic Review (EER). It teaches authors how to shift their writing focus from highly technical, field-internal jargon to a general-interest, compelling narrative. Learn to structure the introduction with a clear arc, present result-forward abstracts, write actionable research highlights, and properly report findings using standard errors (SEs) rather than significance asterisks.
