A comprehensive guide designed to help researchers assess whether a proposed research question fits the scope of the Journal of Labor Economics (JOLE). It teaches how to frame narrow topics to have general academic interest, ensuring the core lesson travels beyond the specific setting, and provides a structured checklist for manuscript refinement.

This guide meticulously details the rigorous, multi-stage review process of top-tier academic journals, using The Journal of Politics (JOP) as a model. It covers double-blind review, initial desk screening for general interest and fit, expert peer review, and the critical post-acceptance replicability check. It helps scholars understand common failure modes and strategically shape their manuscripts to maximize acceptance chances before submission.

This skill guides political science scholars through the rigorous process of assessing whether their research project meets the high standards of top-tier journals (e.g., The Journal of Politics). It focuses on evaluating the work for general interest, theoretical innovation, methodological diversity, and appropriate scope (Research Article vs. Short Article) to maximize publication chances.

This skill provides a comprehensive framework for evaluating whether an economics manuscript is suitable for top-tier, general-interest journals like the JEEA. It guides authors on elevating niche findings into broadly relevant contributions, covering general-interest framing, methodological rigor (e.g., modern econometrics), structural house style, and pre-submission checklists for top-5 economics outlets.

This guide assists authors in determining if their literary or language-studies manuscript is suitable for PMLA, the flagship journal of the Modern Language Association. It covers general-interest argument framing, close reading expectations, MLA house style compliance, and best practices for scholarly engagement, helping authors re-frame highly specialized work for a broad academic audience.

This guide helps scholars assess whether their literary or language-studies project meets the broad, general-interest standards of PMLA. It provides a detailed "fit test" framework, ensuring the work focuses on a significant problem, maintains broad scholarly interest, and presents a sustained argument rather than a descriptive survey. Useful for framing academic essays or deciding between different publication venues.

This guide helps authors polish the prose, abstract, and introduction of quantitative economics manuscripts for a general-interest Econometric Society readership. It emphasizes structuring the paper to clearly present both a substantive economic question and a quantitative method. It adheres to QE house rules, requiring findings to be communicated through point estimates with standard errors and confidence sets, rather than relying on statistical asterisks.

This tool guides researchers through pressure-testing their economic research ideas against the standards of top-tier, general-interest journals (like QJE). It helps diagnose whether a study's 'big idea' and broad implications are compelling enough, ensuring the focus is on the general lesson rather than just the technical method or narrow finding. Ideal for structuring academic arguments and improving manuscript scope.

This skill polishes scholarly prose, abstracts, and introductions to align with the narrative-driven, ambitious style of the Quarterly Journal of Economics (QJE). It focuses on making the core research contribution immediately legible to a general-interest, non-specialist reader, ensuring the big idea lands fast, even in long-form empirical papers. The skill guides users on structuring the 'introduction arc,' stating findings with concrete numbers, and minimizing technical jargon.

This skill provides a comprehensive framework for assessing whether an economics manuscript is suitable for the Quarterly Journal of Economics (QJE). It guides authors through evaluating the research scope (must be general-interest), evidence quality (requires clean natural experiments or quasi-experimental designs), narrative structure (leading with consequential findings), and adherence to rigorous academic submission standards.

This guide is designed for advanced academic research, helping scholars evaluate whether their current research idea meets the rigorous standards of top-tier economics journals (e.g., REStud). It teaches how to distill complex findings into a single, original, and technically excellent contribution, diagnosing potential weaknesses in novelty, scope, and general interest.

This skill acts as a specialized guide for researchers submitting applied econometrics or empirical economics manuscripts. It helps authors assess the suitability of their work for the Review of Economics and Statistics (REStat) venue. It emphasizes framing the contribution around careful identification, robust measurement, and clean design, rather than general interest, providing crucial pre-submission self-checks and identifying potential desk-reject risks.
