Skill UI

This skill provides a structured approach to detecting kernel-level rootkits in Linux environments. It utilizes memory forensics with Volatility3 (checking syscalls, hidden modules) and compares system views (/proc vs /sys) to identify tampered kernel structures, hooked syscalls, and concealed processes. It also integrates live scanning tools like rkhunter for comprehensive security incident investigation.

A comprehensive guide for digital forensics analysts to investigate compromised Linux systems. This workflow details the collection and analysis of critical system artifacts, including authentication logs, shell histories, SSH keys, and system configurations. Use this methodology during incident response to detect rootkits, unauthorized persistence mechanisms, and reconstruct full attacker activity.

A comprehensive guide and toolkit for identifying, repairing, and unpacking UPX-packed malware samples. It addresses scenarios where standard automated decompression fails due to modified PE headers or magic bytes, allowing analysts to recover the original executable for deep static analysis and disassembly in tools like Ghidra or IDA.

This comprehensive toolkit provides deep static analysis capabilities for suspicious PDF documents. Using tools like PDFiD, pdf-parser, and peepdf, it identifies embedded malicious structures—including JavaScript code, shellcode, auto-actions, and exploit kits—without opening or rendering the file. It is essential for security analysts conducting threat triage, forensic investigation, and assessing potential attack vectors from suspicious attachments.

A comprehensive toolkit using Splunk's SPL language to analyze Windows Security, System, and Sysmon event logs. It maps advanced detection queries to specific MITRE ATT&CK techniques, enabling SOC analysts to investigate authentication attacks (e.g., brute force, password spraying), detect privilege escalation, locate persistence mechanisms, and trace lateral movement for detailed forensic timeline analysis.

This guide details the comprehensive workflow for conducting memory forensics using Volatility 3. It covers the entire incident response lifecycle, from acquiring raw RAM dumps to analyzing processes, detecting rootkits, investigating network connections, and extracting sensitive artifacts like credentials and injected code. Essential for live memory analysis in cybersecurity investigations.

This skill guides the setup of Host-Based Intrusion Detection Systems (HIDS) using industry-standard tools like Wazuh, OSSEC, or AIDE. It covers essential security practices, including File Integrity Monitoring (FIM) for critical directories, monitoring system calls, detecting configuration changes, and identifying rootkits. It is crucial for meeting regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., PCI DSS) and significantly enhancing overall endpoint security posture.

A comprehensive guide to detecting sophisticated rootkit activity and persistent threats that evade standard security tools (like Task Manager or EDR). Techniques include cross-view process analysis, identifying System Service Descriptor Table (SSDT) hooks, kernel module analysis, and network connection forensics using tools like Volatility. Use this when standard monitoring fails, and deep system integrity checks are required.

This comprehensive guide outlines methods to identify and exploit specific IPv6 vulnerabilities, including SLAAC spoofing, Router Advertisement (RA) manipulation, and Neighbor Discovery Protocol (NDP) attacks. It is designed strictly for authorized penetration testing to assess dual-stack security controls, detect unauthorized tunnels (like Teredo or 6to4), and validate network defenses against IPv6-specific threats. Always obtain explicit written authorization before use.

A comprehensive toolkit designed to automatically extract Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) from malware samples. It harvests critical artifacts including file hashes (MD5, SHA256), network indicators (IPs, domains, URLs), and host artifacts (registry keys, mutexes) using static, dynamic, and PCAP analysis. Essential for threat intelligence, building defense rules (YARA, Snort), and incident response.

This tool leverages the Rekall memory forensics framework to conduct deep analysis of memory dumps. It is designed to detect sophisticated threats such as process hollowing, injected code via VAD anomalies, hidden operating system processes, and rootkit presence. It applies key forensic plugins (pslist, malfind, vadinfo) essential for rigorous incident response and malware analysis.

A comprehensive guide and toolkit for extracting, parsing, and analyzing Windows Event Logs (EVTX). This method utilizes industry-leading tools like Chainsaw and Hayabusa, along with Sigma rules, to perform deep digital forensics. It is specifically designed to detect critical security indicators such as lateral movement, persistence mechanisms, privilege escalation, and unauthorized access attempts on Windows systems.
