A specialized guide for authors targeting top-tier academic journals in moral, political, and legal philosophy. It assesses manuscript rigor, guiding authors on crafting original normative arguments, engaging with rival theories, and distinguishing between theoretical contributions and mere case studies. It helps authors determine if their work meets the high standards required for publication, especially when choosing between related venues.

This guide outlines the canonical structure for high-level legal scholarship, following the Harvard Law Review (HLR) model. It mandates a progression through four parts: mapping the current doctrine, diagnosing its failure using a theory, proposing a specific prescription (reform), and finally adjudicating the strongest counterarguments. It ensures the argument is logical, earned, and highly persuasive.

This skill guides the rigorous process of building and auditing dense legal footnote apparatus, specifically for Harvard Law Review (HLR) standards. It ensures every proposition is supported by the cited source at the exact page, verifies quote accuracy, and prepares a verifiable source file, making the submission 'pull-ready' for demanding academic review.

This process verifies if a specific legal argument has been published previously by searching major academic databases, including SSRN, Westlaw, HeinOnline, and Google Scholar. It is a critical step for legal scholars to confirm originality, sharpen the claim, and refine the contribution before drafting a full paper, thereby preventing wasted effort and strengthening the scholarly impact.

This skill audits the accuracy and academic rigor of legal citations, particularly for law review articles following The Bluebook style. It ensures proper authority hierarchy (primary vs. secondary), correct use of pinpoint citations, and proper signal usage (e.g., See, Cf., But see). It is essential for academic legal writing to ensure submissions meet the highest standards of scholarly rigor.

This skill guides legal scholars and academic writers on transforming a purely descriptive legal survey into a sharp, original, and normative academic thesis. It teaches the structure of a high-impact contribution, focusing on stating a clear claim, identifying a legal gap, and articulating the potential real-world consequences (the payoff) for courts, Congress, or scholars. Essential for high-level legal publishing.

This guide provides structured criteria for selecting high-quality, publishable topics for academic law review submissions, such as the Harvard Law Review. It emphasizes that successful topics must possess broad legal significance, be timely (linked to recent legal developments), and contain a clear normative argument, moving beyond mere descriptive surveys.

This guide acts as the orchestrator for submitting scholarly articles to Harvard Law Review (HLR). It maps the complex, multi-stage lifecycle of legal academic writing, guiding users through every step from initial topic selection and preemption checks to argument structure, rigorous Bluebook citation, and final student-editor review. It is essential for understanding the unique, student-edited model and required submission strategy in legal academia.

This skill provides a comprehensive guide to elevating academic legal writing to the rigorous standard of a Harvard Law Review (HLR). It focuses on structural discipline, including crafting compelling introductions (problem, claim, stakes, roadmap), maintaining the distinct text-vs-footnote division of labor, and adopting a plain, formal, and active prose style for maximum readability by generalist scholars.

A comprehensive guide for establishing rigorous causal claims in law and economics. It details advanced econometric methodologies (DiD, RDD, IV, Event Study) required to defend the identification strategy—the mapping from a legal variation to the causal estimand—meeting the high standards of top academic journals.

This guide helps scholars precisely define the novel contribution of their research manuscript in the specialized field of Law and Economics (L&E). It teaches authors how to position their work's marginal addition against foundational L&E literature (like Coase or Becker), moving beyond mere topic novelty to focus on new answers, legal variations, or mechanisms. Essential for navigating high-tier academic publishing.

A comprehensive guide for drafting a structured and evidence-based response to academic peer reviews, particularly for high-stakes journals like JLE. It teaches authors how to triage reviewer comments, structure the response letter (opening summary, point-by-point), and address complex issues such as legal identification and institutional description while maintaining a professional, non-defensive tone.
