Skill UI

A specialized scripting language for Makepad, enabling advanced dynamic UI generation, complex workflow automation, and rapid application prototyping. It supports asynchronous operations (HTTP requests, timers) and is designed for integrating sophisticated, AI-assisted logic into application workflows.

This assistant is an expert guide for developing user interfaces using the Makepad framework. It helps users write, explain, and troubleshoot code for a comprehensive set of widgets, including containers (View, PortalList), input controls (TextInput, Slider), navigation elements (TabBar, Modal), and media components. It adheres to best practices, providing structured code patterns and detailed usage documentation for building complex, modern UIs.

This skill provides best practices for structuring complex, production-ready applications built with Makepad. It details robust asynchronous communication patterns, showing how to integrate the Tokio runtime, manage state synchronization, and handle data flow between the main UI thread and background worker tasks using MPSC channels and SignalToUI. Essential for developing advanced chat clients or data streaming services.

A comprehensive guide and best practices for managing event handling and defining custom action patterns within Makepad applications. It covers centralized action processing (using MatchEvent), widget-to-widget communication, and implementing complex state logic, making it ideal for building robust chat clients or complex UI systems.

This skill provides best practices for integrating Matrix SDK functionality into Makepad applications. It details the architecture and implementation patterns for building robust, real-time chat clients. Topics include using native Sliding Sync for efficient room updates, managing asynchronous requests (e.g., sending messages, fetching timelines), and handling complex Matrix operations within a Tokio runtime environment.

This skill provides best practices for managing application state and ensuring data persistence within large-scale applications, particularly for systems using Makepad architecture (Robrix/Moly). It details core structures like AppState, techniques for passing state through widget trees (Scope), and handling persistent data serialization (serde) across sessions, making it essential for building robust, multi-session UIs.

A comprehensive guide and set of best practices for designing reusable, production-ready widgets in Makepad. This skill covers advanced UI patterns such as modal overlays, collapsible sections, drag-and-drop functionality, and dynamic text/image toggling, ensuring robust and consistent component architecture.

This skill enables the makepad-skills library to continuously self-improve during development. It uses Claude Code hooks for automatic triggering, routing relevant skills based on context, and facilitating self-correction and validation. It guides developers on when to evolve skills, how to classify new knowledge, and the process for contributing patterns or solutions back to the library.

Guide for implementing animations in Makepad 2.0 UI development. Covers Animator API, animation groups, states, ease functions, and widget compatibility for hover effects, transitions, and looping animations.

This skill provides comprehensive guidance on Makepad 2.0's Domain Specific Language (DSL) syntax for building UI code. It covers key rules like property assignment, named instances, merge operators, and registration patterns. Use this when developing or debugging Makepad applications to understand the runtime script_mod! macro and Splash scripting language.

This skill provides guidance on Makepad 2.0's two-layer event system for building UI code. It covers Splash inline handlers like on_click and on_render, and Rust MatchEvent trait methods. Use this when developing Makepad applications to handle user interactions, dynamic rendering, and business logic efficiently.

Guidance for building and debugging Makepad 2.0 UI layouts using the layout turtle system, covering Walk sizing, flow, spacing, padding, alignment, and common pitfalls like height: Fit.
