A comprehensive guide for constructing and validating cross-country and time-series panel data in international macro-finance. It addresses common pitfalls in measurement choices (e.g., gross vs. net flows, USD vs. NEER), sample period justification (e.g., GFC, ZLB), and frequency mismatch, ensuring methodological rigor required by top-tier journals.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting to international finance journals, detailing how to structure the online supplementary appendix and prepare the data-and-code deposit. It ensures that supporting material is organized, traceable to main claims, and that data accessibility statements are compliant with institutional policies, especially for restricted international data.

A comprehensive guide for establishing rigorous identification strategies in monetary, banking, and macro-financial modeling. It details the standards required for publishing causal claims in top-tier journals (like JMCB), covering three branches: macro shock identification (SVAR), structural parameter identification, and micro-banking causal designs (e.g., staggered regulations). Learn how to defend against information effects, address endogeneity, and ensure policy relevance.

This guide provides detailed instructions on structuring the online appendix for high-impact academic manuscripts. It emphasizes the critical balance between maintaining a self-contained, readable main text and providing comprehensive, verifiable supporting material. Learn how to properly place derivations, robustness checks, and data construction details to enhance the scientific rigor and credibility of your research.

A comprehensive guide for academics preparing manuscripts for top-tier journals (e.g., JMCB). It helps authors anticipate specialized critiques from monetary, banking, and structural economists by identifying predictable weaknesses, strengthening the core arguments, and pre-emptively addressing common methodological and scope-related objections before official submission.

This guide provides a structured methodology for designing a comprehensive robustness suite for high-stakes academic papers, particularly in monetary economics and banking. Instead of running arbitrary checks, it maps diagnostic tests directly to named econometric threats (e.g., shock contamination, specification dependence, inference understatement, regime shifts), ensuring the credibility and rigor of empirical findings.

A comprehensive guide for economists and researchers on determining if their work concerning monetary policy, banking, credit, or macro-finance is a suitable fit for the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking (JMCB). It teaches how to structure arguments, identify clear policy stakes, and differentiate the unique scope of JMCB from similar academic outlets.

This skill guides authors in sharpening the core claim of their academic manuscript, ensuring the contribution is positioned as first-order and highly impactful for a specialized journal like the Journal of Monetary Economics (JME). It helps transform existing results into a clear, single-sentence, policy-relevant contribution that can survive rigorous peer review and editor screening.

A comprehensive guide detailing the quantitative and econometric standards required for submissions to top-tier monetary and macroeconomic journals. It covers advanced techniques like VAR/SVAR, Local Projections, and DSGE modeling, focusing on proper inference, robustness checks, and diagnostic reporting to ensure scholarly rigor.

This guide details the rigorous identification methods required for submitting macro-financial papers to top-tier journals like the Journal of Monetary Economics (JME). It covers techniques such as separating pure monetary shocks from information effects, implementing various Structural VARs (SVARs), using local projections, and conducting model-based identification, ensuring your claims meet the highest academic standards.

This guide helps authors frame their academic contributions within highly specialized fields like monetary policy, DSGE modeling, and financial intermediation. It teaches how to precisely define the novel element (shock, mechanism, or counterfactual) relative to the closest prior work, ensuring the manuscript is viewed as an advance, not a mere survey. Ideal for preparing submissions to top-tier economics journals.

Provides a comprehensive guide for authors responding to a Journal of Monetary Economics (JME) revise-and-resubmit (R&R). It addresses the high-stakes "up or out" nature of the submission, teaching how to prioritize make-or-break points, structure a meticulous point-by-point rebuttal, and adhere to strict formatting rules (e.g., using online supplements) to maximize publication chances.
