This guide provides a critical framework for academic authorship targeting top-tier Operations Management journals. It instructs researchers on how to centralize the operational decision, select the appropriate analytical or empirical 'lane,' and correctly map the research question to a specific editorial department, ensuring the work meets the journal's core scope before any modeling or data analysis begins.

This skill guides authors submitting work related to Operations Research (OR). It helps assess whether a manuscript provides a genuine theoretical or methodological advance in fields like optimization, stochastic processes, queueing theory, and mathematical modeling. It emphasizes the necessity of rigorous proofs, mathematical depth, and positioning the contribution against existing OR literature, rather than merely presenting a case study application.

A comprehensive guide on structuring the mandatory contribution statement for Operations Research (OR) manuscripts. It teaches authors how to articulate the novel, innovative, and rigorous contribution, ensuring the work defines a clear delta over prior art, and connecting theoretical findings to practical decision payoffs within strict word count limits.

A comprehensive guide for designing and reporting rigorous computational studies in Operations Research (OR) manuscripts. It covers best practices for selecting benchmark instances and strong baselines, applying statistical methods to stochastic output (e.g., confidence intervals), and adhering to mandatory code and data deposit standards (ORJournal workflow) to ensure full reproducibility.

A comprehensive guide for rigorously positioning an Operations Research (OR) manuscript against prior art. It teaches authors to move beyond vague 'gap' statements by constructing a precise, technical delta against 3-5 closest papers. Focus areas include weakening assumptions, improving bounds, enhancing algorithmic complexity, and defining new operational regimes, often presented in a structured comparison table to satisfy technical reviewers.

This guide outlines the rigorous analytical methodology required for Operations Research (OR) manuscripts. It instructs users on selecting the appropriate mathematical machinery—such as duality, dynamic programming, convergence analysis, or concentration inequalities—to establish provable guarantees, approximation factors, and algorithmic complexity. It ensures that claims are backed by rigorous proofs, moving beyond mere heuristics.

A comprehensive guide to the Operations Research (OR) academic publishing review process. This guide explains the departmental editorial routing, the soft double-anonymous review model, and how to interpret complex decision letters (Reject, Major/Minor Revision, Accept). It details the roles of Area and Associate Editors, and provides actionable strategies for authors to strengthen their technical contributions and respond effectively to reviewer feedback.

A comprehensive pre-submission checklist for Operations Research (OR) manuscripts targeting INFORMS/ScholarOne. This guide verifies critical requirements including soft double-anonymous anonymization, contribution statement formatting, page limits, correct area routing, and code/data deposit readiness, ensuring the manuscript meets all standards before final submission.

A comprehensive guide for constructing rigorous and structured exhibits (tables, figures, theorems) for Operations Research (OR) manuscripts, adhering to INFORMS house style. It details requirements for formal statement layout, comparison tables against prior work, computational results, and performance plots, ensuring maximum academic rigor and reproducibility.

A comprehensive guide for formulating rigorous Operations Research (OR) manuscripts. It covers defining mathematical models (optimization, stochastic, simulation), structuring claims (theorems, propositions), and rigorously justifying assumptions. Essential for transforming practical problems into mathematically provable, publication-ready academic work.

This guide helps researchers determine if their problem constitutes a rigorous Operations Research (OR) or Management Science (MS) methodological contribution. It provides a comprehensive fit test covering method novelty, mathematical rigor (proofs, guarantees), and significance to the OR community. Furthermore, it guides users on selecting the precise editorial area (e.g., Optimization, Stochastic Models, Simulation) for submission.

This skill acts as a comprehensive workflow router for authors preparing Operations Research (OR) manuscripts for top-tier journals. It guides the user through the entire modeling-to-submission lifecycle, mapping the necessary stages—from initial theory development and literature positioning to computational data analysis and final contribution framing. Its purpose is to ensure methodological rigor and adherence to the journal's specific, multi-stage norms.
