Skill UI

This skill addresses the challenge of managing Dev/Staging/Prod separation in OCI without native account separation. It uses Python to centralize configuration profiles, compartment IDs, and implements safety guardrails (like blocking destructive actions in production) to prevent accidental cross-environment deployments, ensuring repeatable and secure cloud workflows.

This skill allows users to programmatically set up a comprehensive observability stack for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) resources. It guides the creation of metric queries, alarm rules, custom metric publishing, and detailed log searches using the Python SDK. By automating monitoring and alerting, users gain full control over their infrastructure visibility, eliminating reliance on the OCI Console UI for critical operational checks.

This skill provides a deep dive into optimizing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) resources. It guides users through selecting appropriate compute shapes (e.g., E5.Flex, A1.Flex) and understanding the performance tiers for block volumes (Balanced, Ultra High Performance). Users can programmatically query available shapes, create performance-tuned volumes, and monitor real-time IOPS and network bandwidth using the OCI SDK, ensuring optimal infrastructure decisions for any workload.

A comprehensive checklist designed to validate that an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environment meets rigorous production-grade standards. This tool automates checks for critical security controls, including compartment isolation, backup policy enforcement, NSG/security list auditing, API key rotation status, encryption verification, and compliance monitoring via Cloud Guard. Use it when preparing an OCI environment for mission-critical workloads or conducting a formal security audit.

Programmatically query Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) metrics using the Monitoring Query Language (MQL) and create monitoring alarms via the Python SDK. This skill bypasses the limitations of the OCI console query builder, allowing reliable retrieval of key infrastructure metrics such as CPU utilization, memory usage, network traffic, and disk I/O. Ideal for building robust dashboards, automating resource monitoring, and setting up complex alerting rules.

This skill provides comprehensive techniques for building highly resilient clients when interacting with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) APIs. It addresses the common 429 TooManyRequests throttling errors by implementing custom exponential backoff with jitter, utilizing the SDK's advanced retry configuration, and integrating circuit breaker patterns for large-scale, high-volume operations. Use this guide when automating bulk OCI tasks to ensure reliable data retrieval and prevent API failure due to rate limits.

Provides a comprehensive, production-ready standard 3-tier reference architecture for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The design covers essential components like VCN, public/private subnets, Internet Gateway, NAT Gateway, Service Gateway, and Autonomous Database. It includes deployment steps using Terraform and OCI SDK Python code, making it ideal for designing new cloud environments or migrating existing patterns from other major cloud providers.

This comprehensive guide details the end-to-end process of migrating data and connecting to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's Autonomous Database (ADB). It walks through provisioning the ADB using the Python SDK, securely downloading the necessary mTLS wallet, establishing a connection using `python-oracledb`, and executing compatibility-aware data migration via Data Pump.

This guide provides production-grade patterns for using the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Python SDK. It addresses critical issues such as preventing Instance Principal memory leaks by implementing a thread-safe singleton client pattern, configuring explicit connection and read timeouts, and implementing robust exponential backoff retry strategies for transient errors (429, 5xx). Essential for building reliable, long-running OCI services.

This comprehensive skill guide provides deep insight into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) IAM policy syntax and best practices. It covers the privilege verb hierarchy (inspect, read, use, manage), the correct structure for policy statements, and common patterns for granting least-privilege access across various compartments. Use this when developing automation scripts, setting up complex access control policies, or performing security audits in OCI.

This skill provides a comprehensive guide for safely upgrading the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Python SDK and Terraform provider. It addresses known breaking changes, schema modifications, and version incompatibility issues common in OCI tools. By implementing version pinning, pre-upgrade testing, and structured rollback procedures, users can ensure a stable and reliable migration process for both code and infrastructure definitions.

This skill guides users on building robust, event-driven pipelines within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). It covers setting up OCI Events rules to monitor resource state changes (Compute, Object Storage, Identity). Events can then be routed to Oracle Notification Service (ONS) topics for real-time alerting or directly to OCI Functions (serverless processing) for complex, automated actions.
