Skill UI

A comprehensive guide for submitting pure mathematics research to Advances in Mathematics. It details the journal's high standards, broad scope (covering algebra, topology, number theory, etc.), required proof rigor, house style, and submission checklist. Use this skill when assessing if a general-interest, high-quality mathematical paper is suitable for this broad-scope, selective academic venue.

A comprehensive guide for structuring high-impact scientific papers in advanced materials. It teaches authors how to build a cohesive narrative around a single central scientific advance, emphasizing the crucial causal chain: Structure → Property → Function. It also provides rules for optimizing the opening paragraph to serve as a self-contained abstract.

This guide teaches authors how to structure scientific manuscripts by correctly partitioning core findings, decisive evidence, and the main narrative into the body text, while moving exhaustive datasets, full protocols, and secondary characterization into the Supporting Information (SI). It ensures the main paper is stand-alone and convincing.

A comprehensive guide for academic researchers, detailing how to precisely define and position the marginal contribution of an economic manuscript (especially for top journals like AEJ: Applied). It teaches techniques like the 'three-paper test' and defining an 'honest delta,' ensuring the contribution is framed by identification and mechanism, rather than just topic or setting.

This guide provides a comprehensive, advanced strategy for academic researchers writing microeconometric papers for top-tier journals (e.g., AEJ: Applied). It teaches authors how to anticipate sophisticated, technical objections from expert referees (such as issues with causal inference design, selection bias, or parallel trends). The focus is on pre-empting these objections by integrating solutions directly into the manuscript text, rather than waiting for a formal revision letter.

This guide provides a methodology for integrating theoretical models into empirical economics papers, especially for journals emphasizing empirical findings (e.g., AEJ: Applied). It teaches researchers how to ensure that theoretical components—such as mechanisms, welfare statements, or counterfactuals—serve to interpret, sharpen, or guide the existing empirical estimates, rather than leading the paper or replacing the core identification provided by the design. Focus on sufficient statistics and minimal model assumptions is key.

This guide helps revise the prose, abstract, and introduction of applied economics manuscripts to conform to the high standards of AEJ: Applied. It teaches how to structure the paper by leading with the core finding and ensuring the economic question is clear in the first paragraph, transforming technical drafts into highly legible, journal-ready exposition.

This guide provides a structured methodology for articulating the unique and marginal contribution of a scholarly paper, particularly within macroeconomics. It teaches authors how to bridge the gap between theoretical modeling (quantitative-theory) and data-driven evidence (identified-empirical), ensuring that the novelty and scope are clearly communicated to a broad, general expert audience.

A comprehensive guide for assembling a fully reproducible research package for macroeconomics papers targeting the American Economic Journal (AEJ: Macro). It ensures compliance with the AEA Data and Code Availability Policy by documenting raw data, simulation/calibration code, estimation routines, and visualization steps, guaranteeing that results can be independently verified by reviewers.

A comprehensive framework designed to rigorously test the stability of key macroeconomic findings. This program addresses potential biases arising from specification choices, sample periods (e.g., Great Moderation, ZLB, COVID breaks), and methodological variations (SVAR vs. LP). It ensures that the reported headline quantity remains robust even when challenged by a skeptical academic referee, providing a targeted defense rather than simply listing extra tables. Ideal for high-stakes empirical macro papers.

A comprehensive guide to assessing the fit of a macroeconomics research paper for top-tier journals, particularly the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics (AEJ: Macro). It helps researchers determine if their work possesses the required broad interest, quantitative discipline, and policy relevance to succeed at AEJ: Macro, versus more specialized venues like AER, JME, or RED. This framework guides strategic academic writing.

This skill acts as a comprehensive workflow router for manuscripts targeting the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics (AEJ: Macro). It guides the researcher through the entire publication lifecycle—from initial topic selection and literature positioning, through rigorous quantitative modeling (DSGE, SVAR), empirical identification, writing, to final submission and rebuttal strategy. It ensures the final paper meets the high standards of modern macroeconomics research.
