Skill UI

This skill acts as a comprehensive router for managing the entire manuscript development lifecycle for Accounting, Organizations and Society (AOS). It guides users through the necessary stages—from initial topic selection and theoretical framing to data analysis, drafting, and responding to reviewer feedback. It is designed to help users determine the next specialized skill required at any point in the academic publishing process.

This guide assists researchers in strengthening the methodological rigor of academic work, particularly in political science. It provides structured methods for defending research design, covering rigorous causal identification for quantitative work (e.g., DiD, IV, RDD) and systematic case selection/process tracing for qualitative analysis. Use this when facing reviewer skepticism or preparing a pre-analysis plan to ensure the evidence credibly connects to the theoretical argument.

This guide assists in building robust, mechanism-driven theories for academic manuscripts, particularly in organizational science. It teaches the critical distinction between process theories (explaining how and why things unfold) and variance theories (explaining how much things vary). It emphasizes defining generative mechanisms, specifying boundary conditions, and structuring arguments for both inductive and deductive research designs, ensuring the theory is the core contribution.

This guide provides a rigorous framework for strengthening research design in complex social science manuscripts. It covers methodologies ranging from advanced quantitative causal inference (e.g., DID, IV, RDD) to systematic qualitative case selection and process tracing. It teaches how to defend assumptions, rule out rival explanations, and generalize findings beyond the specific case or setting.

This guide provides comprehensive guidelines for selecting, validating, and defending rigorous research designs for Contemporary Accounting Research (CAR) manuscripts. It covers various approaches—including panel archival, controlled experiments, analytical models, field studies, and surveys—while stressing critical rigor checks like identification strategy, internal validity, and model discipline. It also mandates adherence to ethical review processes and data integrity policies.

A comprehensive guide designed to verify academic manuscripts against journal-specific guidelines (e.g., CEQ). It covers all critical aspects before submission, including citation style (author-date, not footnotes), abstract limits, keyword selection, JEL coding, document anonymity, and data reproducibility, ensuring a smooth submission process and minimizing formatting rejections.

A comprehensive guide for designing rigorous, multi-experiment cognitive psychology studies. This framework ensures that experiments are engineered to discriminate between competing theoretical models by tightly controlling confounds, optimizing stimulus construction, and providing adequate power for the critical contrast, rather than just the main effect. It guides the entire planning process from hypothesis formulation to pre-data lockdown.

A comprehensive project management framework for authors submitting theoretical papers to major conferences (e.g., COLT). This guide outlines the entire lifecycle, emphasizing backward planning from the deadline, milestone setting (Result Freeze, Verification Pass), and critical quality checks, including proof assembly, anonymity sweeps, and rebuttal response. It is designed to mitigate common academic writing risks and ensure a robust submission process.

This skill serves as the central orchestrator for Communication Research (CR) manuscripts. It guides users through the entire academic publishing lifecycle, assessing whether a manuscript is quantitative, theory-driven, and methodologically sound. It routes the user to the appropriate specialized sub-skill (e.g., design, analysis, theory-building) based on the study type (experiment, survey, content analysis) and the current stage of the research process.

This skill converts Portable Document Format (.pdf) files into Markdown format, making the content easily analyzable, summarized, searchable, or extracted. It is designed to handle various user requests involving PDFs, such as summarizing reports, extracting data, or processing folders of documents. It can also be invoked alongside sibling skills for batch processing mixed file types (PDF, DOCX, XLSX).

This skill converts Microsoft Word documents (.docx) into Markdown format. It is essential for accurately analyzing, summarizing, or extracting data from proprietary Word files, as direct parsing is unreliable. It supports single files, batch processing of folders, and is designed to coordinate with sibling skills (PDF and Excel) when handling mixed document types to ensure no data is skipped.

Provides a comprehensive framework for defending the methodological rigor of comparative social science research. This skill guides users through establishing comparative leverage, whether in cross-national panel data, case-based comparisons, or natural experiments. It emphasizes techniques like causal inference, process tracing, and ruling out rival theoretical accounts to strengthen the study's claims.
