A comprehensive guide detailing the unique process of proposing a research topic to the Annual Review of Economics (ARE). It explains that ARE operates on a commissioning basis, guiding authors on how to structure a compelling, committee-ready topic pitch—focusing on the organizing spine, required scope, and market rationale—rather than submitting a finished manuscript.

A comprehensive guide detailing the unique commissioning process for submitting to Annual Review of Psychology (ARPsych). It clarifies the difference between unsolicited submissions and invited roles, providing playbooks for both suggesting a new topic/author lineup and managing the scope and contributions once an invitation is secured. Essential reading for researchers aiming to publish in a commissioned volume.

This guide helps researchers determine if a psychology topic is academically mature, important, and ready for a comprehensive review article suitable for an Annual Review publication. It provides a structured framework to scope the topic, ensuring it is bounded, current, and proposes a new organizing idea rather than merely summarizing existing knowledge.

A critical framework for evaluating art-historical projects, designed to elevate a local description or catalog entry into a significant, general disciplinary contribution. Use this guide to pressure-test the scope, argument strength, visual feasibility, and overall scholarly reach of your research before committing to deep writing.

This skill serves as an essential venue-selection and framing aid for researchers targeting Arthritis & Rheumatology (A&R). It guides authors on the scope, required evidence bar, and structural standards for publishing research on autoimmune and musculoskeletal diseases (e.g., RA, SLE, OA). It covers guidelines for clinical trials, observational studies, and basic/translational immunology, including mandatory reporting guidelines (CONSORT, STROBE) and house style requirements.

This skill guides researchers on positioning academic manuscripts for the Asia-Pacific Economic Review. It covers the journal's scope, focusing on regional cooperation (RCEP), national economies, international trade, and China-Asia interactions. It helps users evaluate their topic fit, strengthen theoretical frameworks, and avoid common rejection pitfalls before formal submission.

A comprehensive guide to structuring and defending research designs across various sociological methods, including quantitative, comparative-historical, ethnographic, and computational approaches. It emphasizes building a credible link between theoretical arguments and empirical evidence, critically addressing alternative hypotheses, and defining the scope of causal claims to meet the highest academic standards.

This comprehensive guide is designed for authors targeting Astronomy & Astrophysics (A&A). It details the journal's specific scope, required scientific rigor, and submission guidelines. Use this tool to assess if your manuscript fits A&A, refine your research framing, and ensure strict compliance with data reduction, uncertainty reporting, and archival standards.

This guide teaches advanced academic researchers how to elevate mere research findings into robust, generalizable theoretical contributions suitable for top-tier journals. It structures the process of building an argument—whether the work is empirical, formal/game-theoretic, or interpretive—by explicitly defining mechanisms, scope conditions, and observable implications. The focus is on the 'portability' of the argument across different countries and subfields.

A comprehensive guide to pressure-test whether a political science project meets the broad, general-interest criteria of the British Journal of Political Science (BJPS). It helps users frame their research question and contribution to maximize its appeal beyond single-country or subfield limitations, advising on optimal format choice and scope definition.

A comprehensive guide for authors targeting Blood, the flagship journal of the American Society of Hematology (ASH). This skill details the journal's scope, required mechanistic depth, evidence standards, structure, and submission checklist. It helps authors re-frame their research to meet the high bar for clinical relevance and fundamental biology in hematology, ensuring adherence to ASH guidelines.

This skill helps researchers determine if their scientific contribution—whether it is primary research, a major synthesis, a field-campaign overview, or a community essay—is best suited for the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society (BAMS). It guides the author on the specific scope, required level of synthesis, and community significance expected by BAMS, helping to re-frame narrow technical results for a broad, interdisciplinary audience across atmospheric, oceanic, and hydrologic sciences.
