This guide helps researchers navigate the complex landscape of academic publishing in distributed computing. It provides detailed criteria to differentiate between major specialized venues (like PODC, DISC, SPAA) and general systems conferences (ICDCS, OSDI). By analyzing the model, cost measure, and nature of the proof (e.g., provable guarantees, impossibility results), users can determine the best fit for their theoretical contribution, thereby avoiding common submission mistakes and maximizing impact.

A comprehensive guide for positioning Operations Research manuscripts within the Production and Operations Management (POM) academic landscape. It helps authors compare their work against canonical departmental literature, adjacent top-tier journals (e.g., M&SOM, OR), and rigorously define axes of novelty (setting, mechanism, method). Useful when determining the optimal venue or clarifying the paper's unique contribution.

This guide details the strategic process for writing a constrained, data-driven rebuttal for competitive academic conferences (such as PPoPP). It teaches authors how to structure responses to address scaling questions, compare results against baselines, correct factual misreadings, and maximize impact within strict word and time limits. Focus on evidence, not argument.

This comprehensive guide outlines the rigorous methodology required for designing high-impact evaluations of parallel systems and algorithms for top-tier conferences. It stresses that contributions must demonstrate the 'twin bar': both concurrency correctness (e.g., linearizability) and measurable scalability (e.g., strong vs. weak scaling). It covers best practices for establishing strong baselines, managing measurement hygiene (variance, pinning), and anticipating advanced reviewer scrutiny in HPC.

This guide outlines the necessary steps to ensure that parallel computing performance papers are scientifically reproducible. Since parallel results depend heavily on machine architecture, topology, and runtime conditions, proper documentation must cover everything from CPU/GPU specifications and interconnects to thread pinning policies, random seeds, and compiler flags. The focus is on proving the scaling trend, not just the absolute numbers, allowing results to hold true across different hardware platforms.

A comprehensive deep dive into the PPoPP conference review pipeline. This guide models the single-round, double-blind review process, detailing how submissions are evaluated by the Program Committee and External Review Committee. It covers critical aspects such as the author response rebuttal, automatic poster consideration, and the specific technical axes reviewers prioritize (e.g., scalability, concurrency correctness, baseline honesty) for parallel programming research.

This guide helps researchers structure their academic papers for the PPoPP conference. It outlines the principle of 'decision-criticality,' advising authors to keep core correctness arguments, headline scaling curves, and design insights in the main body, while moving bulk data, full proofs, and extensive sweeps to the artifact or appendix.

A comprehensive guide detailing the rigorous standards required for submitting parallel programming research to top-tier academic venues. It covers crucial topics such as proving concurrency correctness, demonstrating measurable scalability using speedup curves, adhering to strict formatting (10 pages, two-column layout), and structuring the technical contribution to satisfy expert reviewers.

A comprehensive, final-stage audit guide for submitting papers to highly selective robotics conferences like RSS. It details the multi-stage deadline cascade, adherence to strict double-blind review rules, self-containment standards, and formatting requirements to maximize acceptance chances.

A comprehensive guide for submitting networking research artifacts for SIGCOMM conferences. It dictates how to package code, downscale topologies, substitute traces, and pin environments so that reviewers can independently verify and reproduce the paper's headline results, establishing verifiable scientific claims.

This comprehensive guide breaks down the complex SIGGRAPH/SIGGRAPH Asia technical paper review pipeline. It covers the single 6-point scoring scale, the multi-reviewer structure, the rebuttal process, committee decisions, and the dual-track (Journal vs. Conference) outcomes. Use this to understand where authors can exert influence and how to prepare submissions to meet the highest academic standards.

This guide outlines the best practices for preparing system artifacts for academic evaluation, following the ACM Artifact Review and Badging scheme. It details how authors must ensure reproducibility, especially for tail latency and cost results, by providing scaled-down testbeds, comprehensive documentation, and clear provenance tracking to satisfy conference evaluators.
