Skill UI

A framework for transforming empirical findings into portable, testable theoretical arguments, especially for comparative and longitudinal social science research. It guides the user to structure a macro–micro mechanism (e.g., how an institution influences individual choices) and derive cross-level hypotheses, ensuring the argument is generalizable and robust enough for high-level academic publication.

This guide provides a comprehensive model of the academic review process used at FAccT. It details the interdisciplinary nature of the review panel (CS, law, social science), the OpenReview workflow, and the strategic implications of the 'Accept/Revise/Reject' decision set. It guides authors on navigating the stages, including rebuttals and revise-and-resubmissions.

This skill guides authors on how to position interdisciplinary manuscripts for journals covering global environmental change (GEC). It emphasizes connecting multiple knowledge domains (e.g., biophysical science, governance, social science) and reframing the research gap as a conceptual contribution, rather than merely pointing out an absence of study. Essential for drafting strong introductions and satisfying reviewer requirements for disciplinary breadth.

This guide details the rigorous evaluation process used by Global Environmental Change (GEC) for manuscripts, including double-anonymized review, initial editorial screening for scope and social-science fit, and the role of interdisciplinary external reviewers. It provides critical insights into common rejection pitfalls and actionable advice on how to structure a paper to maximize its chances of acceptance in academic publishing.

This guide helps researchers determine if their environmental project aligns with the scope of Global Environmental Change (GEC). It emphasizes the requirement for social-science components, policy relevance, and societal significance, ensuring the work advances knowledge about how societies interact with environmental change, rather than focusing solely on biophysical results.

This skill guides authors to determine if their manuscript is suitable for the interdisciplinary journal Human Relations. It evaluates the paper's theoretical depth, conceptual breadth across disciplines (e.g., OB, sociology, industrial relations), and methodological rigor. It helps authors evaluate the fit, framing, and potential rejection risks of their work against the journal's focus on the social science of work and organizations.

This guide helps researchers sharpen the theoretical contribution ("the so what?") of their academic manuscripts, especially for high-level social science journals. It teaches how to move beyond simply reporting 'findings' to making a substantive theoretical claim by identifying the contribution type (e.g., reframing, mechanism, boundary) and structuring the discussion to meet rigorous academic standards.

This skill polishes scholarly prose for academic manuscripts, particularly in Human Relations and social science. It focuses on elevating the writing from technically correct but flat drafts to a theoretically engaged, highly readable, and narratively compelling register. It guides users on structuring the argument (puzzle to generativity), refining prose (cutting nominalizations, using process voice), and adhering to strict academic constraints (abstract length, word caps, anonymity).

This guide teaches researchers how to elevate specialized, subfield-specific research into a significant academic contribution. It provides a framework for framing a 'live question' that crosses multiple academic traditions, theories, and methods—moving the focus from mere internal discussion to broad scholarly relevance. Essential for humanities and social science writing.

This guide targets the Journal of Physical Education, a CSSCI-level journal emphasizing school physical education, sport humanities, and social science. It is ideal for researchers studying PE reform, youth fitness, and sport policy. Submissions must demonstrate strong theoretical grounding and problem consciousness, analyzing educational, social, or health mechanisms rather than merely summarizing teaching experiences.

This guide provides detailed submission criteria and academic positioning for the Journal of Shanghai University of Sport. The journal is a top-tier CSSCI publication that emphasizes sports social sciences, governance, public policy, and industry economics. It requires theoretical depth, rigorous methodological standards, and strong theoretical dialogue, guiding researchers away from pure case studies or simple policy recommendations.

This guide outlines the scope and requirements for submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Sports Research. It focuses on advanced sport social science and humanities, demanding rigorous theoretical dialogue in areas like sport sociology, governance, policy, history, and philosophy. It guides authors to transform empirical findings into theoretical explanations of social processes and mechanisms, avoiding pure policy reports or technical descriptions.
