Skill UI

This skill guides researchers through the rigorous 'fit test' for submitting research to a flagship journal like the Journal of Communication (JoC). It helps determine if a project possesses general, cross-disciplinary significance rather than being limited to a specific platform or niche subfield. Use it to elevate case studies into theory-driven mechanisms, significantly improving the scholarly impact of your work.

This tool guides researchers in assessing the methodological fit of their empirical findings for top-tier journals like the Journal of Econometrics (JoE). It pressures-tests the proposed work against rigorous academic standards, checking for mathematical novelty, clear economic motivation, and methodological advancement. Use it when unsure of the journal scope or the true contribution type.

A comprehensive guide for developing rigorous, mechanism-based theoretical arguments for operations management (OM) empirical studies. It teaches how to translate general theories (like RBV or TCE) into specific, testable operational mechanisms, specifying appropriate levels of analysis, mediators, and moderators required for top-tier academic publications.

This guide helps researchers rigorously evaluate whether their operations management or supply chain research topic is suitable for the Journal of Operations Management (JOM). It employs a four-screen test to ensure the topic meets academic criteria: operations must be the core phenomenon, the study must be empirically grounded, it must advance theory, and it must maintain practical relevance for managers.

A comprehensive guide for designing and presenting rigorous experiments for submissions to the Journal of Software (JOS). It guides users through setting clear Research Questions (RQ), selecting real-world datasets and baselines, applying advanced statistical testing (effect size, significance), conducting ablation studies, and addressing threats to validity (internal, external, conceptual). This ensures the evidence strongly supports the claims, meeting top-tier academic standards.

This comprehensive guide details the rigorous standards and specific criteria for manuscripts targeting the journal Joule (Cell Press). It covers the scope fit, method requirements, and house style for sustainable energy research, including photovoltaics, advanced batteries, and fuel cells. Authors must ensure their work is system-aware, full-cell tested, and supported by robust techno-economic and mechanistic evidence to meet top-tier academic publishing expectations.

A comprehensive guide for authors aiming to submit academic manuscripts to the Journal of Business Economics. It details the journal's specific scope, including business circulation, corporate management, and digital economy, and provides critical advice on structure, methodology, and academic framing. Use this tool to check manuscript suitability, revise arguments, identify common rejection pitfalls, and ensure adherence to the latest official submission standards.

This skill guides authors in evaluating if their climate research—focusing on dynamics, variability, or change—meets the high scientific standards of the Journal of Climate. It covers scope fit, rigorous model evaluation, statistical significance testing (e.g., handling autocorrelation), and adherence to AMS house style, ensuring the contribution advances fundamental climate understanding.

A comprehensive skill designed for authors targeting the Journal of Clinical Oncology (JCO). It provides an exhaustive checklist covering the journal's high academic standards, required evidence depth (such as Phase III randomized controlled trials), appropriate study scope (solid tumors, biomarkers), mandatory formatting, and the latest submission guidelines. Use this tool to optimize your manuscript and improve its suitability for publication in a top-tier oncology journal.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting financial econometrics papers. This skill helps determine if a manuscript is suitable for journals like the Journal of Empirical Finance (JEF). It guides authors on framing the core contribution—whether it lies in the empirical method, measurement, or careful evaluation—and details necessary rigor, such as out-of-sample testing, proper inference, and adherence to house style.

This comprehensive guide helps authors assess if their electrochemistry manuscript (covering batteries, fuel cells, supercapacitors, etc.) is suitable for the Journal of Power Sources. It instructs users on how to reframe purely material-focused advances into compelling device-and-electrochemistry stories, emphasizing cell-level performance, degradation analysis, and rigorous testing standards.

A guide for advanced data analysis in policy evaluation, extending beyond standard causal estimates. It emphasizes rigorous reporting of cost-benefit ratios, distributional consequences (who gains and who pays), robust heterogeneity testing, and honest uncertainty quantification necessary for high-level policy academic journals. Essential for turning effect sizes into decision-relevant policy narratives.
