This guide provides a comprehensive strategy for authors submitting to top theoretical computing conferences (like STOC). It covers best practices for pre-emptive objection handling, structuring the main submission to anticipate critiques, responding effectively to chair-mediated technical clarifications, and planning the subsequent resubmission memo for maximum impact.

This guide clarifies the role of computation in theoretical computer science submissions, particularly for venues that prioritize theorems over empirical data. It distinguishes between legitimate forms of evidence—such as certified proof steps, constructive object discoveries, and illustrative examples—and inappropriate performance benchmarking. It helps researchers structure their work to align with theorem-based research, ensuring computational elements enhance the core theoretical contribution.

Guidelines for ensuring academic proofs are completely verifiable by third parties, especially when theorems are distributed across multiple documents (e.g., extended abstract and full version). It emphasizes single-source builds, preventing statement drift, and detailing computational determinism requirements for maximum rigor in theoretical computer science research.

A comprehensive model detailing the rigorous evaluation process for submissions to STOC (Symposium on Theory of Computing). It covers the committee structure, the roles of program committee members and external subreviewers, the key evaluation axes (Correctness, Significance, Breadth, Novelty), the typical timeline, and strategic advice for authors on maximizing their leverage throughout the double-blind review process.

This guide helps researchers evaluate the scope and general significance of their theoretical computer science work. It introduces the 'breadth test' (corridor, lineage, technique) and a detailed routing map to advise whether the paper is best suited for a flagship, broad-scope venue like STOC, or a more specialized conference (e.g., SODA, ITCS, CCC). It provides a structured decision procedure for optimizing academic publication success.

This comprehensive tool assesses the suitability of a manuscript for the Strategic Management Journal (SMJ). It guides authors through critical self-checks, focusing on the necessity of a clear contribution to strategy theory, the required level of empirical rigor (e.g., handling endogeneity), and ensuring the core focus remains on firm-level strategic decisions and performance outcomes. Essential for pre-submission refinement.

This skill provides a comprehensive assessment framework for submitting manuscripts to the journal 'Systems Engineering Theory and Practice.' It helps researchers determine the manuscript's fit, required methodological depth (e.g., modeling, algorithms), structural adherence, and potential revision paths. It serves as a crucial guide to meet the high academic standards of a specialized systems engineering publication.

This guide assists researchers in determining the optimal venue for their formal verification project. It helps decide whether the work belongs at TACAS (ETAPS) or a sibling conference (like CAV or VMCAI), depending on the emphasis (tool vs. theory), and guides the selection among the four distinct contribution categories (Research, Tool, Case-study, Demonstration).

A comprehensive guide for academic authors on how to transition raw research findings into a clear, explicit, and highly significant statement of knowledge. It teaches authors how to frame their contribution—whether it's a new theory, a refined measurement, or a policy implication—to satisfy journal requirements and reviewer skepticism, ensuring the paper clearly answers the question: 'What does the field now know?'

This guide instructs researchers on how to build robust, theoretically grounded economic mechanisms and derive testable predictions for accounting and finance research. It covers the methodologies required for archival, analytical, and experimental papers, ensuring claims move beyond mere correlation to establish clear causal economic channels.

A comprehensive guide detailing when and how to structure theoretical models in development economics research, particularly for World Bank Economic Review submissions. It emphasizes that models must serve a functional purpose—such as interpreting empirical coefficients, running policy counterfactuals, or aggregating to welfare statements—rather than being decorative. Key principles cover parameter identification, matching structural frictions to the local setting, and handling counterfactual assumptions (Lucas critique).

This guide helps researchers move beyond decorative theory to construct 'load-bearing' conceptual or analytical frameworks for World Development (WD) manuscripts. It outlines how to transform vague ideas into structured, testable mechanisms by stating clear mechanisms, deriving discriminating predictions, mapping predictions to evidence, and defining scope conditions, ensuring the theory actively drives the empirical argument.
