This guide provides a structured methodology for articulating the core contribution of an accounting research paper, particularly for academic journals like RAST. It teaches authors how to move beyond merely listing methods or results, instead crafting a single, sharp, defensible sentence that specifies the accounting construct, the effect, the underlying mechanism, and the resulting implication for standard-setters, investors, or theory. Use this when your findings are compelling but the 'so what' is unclear.

This guide helps structure and build rigorous academic theories and economic models, especially for accounting manuscripts. Use it when the core challenge is articulating the underlying economic mechanism (friction, channel), building a minimal, provable model, or moving beyond simple correlation (HARKing). It guides the process from raw primitives to testable, proposition-based arguments.

This skill guides researchers through the rigorous process of refining a preliminary accounting idea into a sharp, contribution-driven research question suitable for top academic journals like Review of Accounting Studies (RAST). It helps users identify the core accounting construct, define the mechanism (friction/channel), and ensure the study's focus is on accounting theory, rather than merely using accounting data in a general finance context.

This guide helps authors polish the prose and structure of academic accounting manuscripts, particularly for top-tier journal submissions. It emphasizes front-loading the contribution in the introduction, crafting a high-impact abstract, and adopting an active, authoritative 'house voice' that guides the reader immediately to the core finding and its implication.

This guide provides comprehensive rules for organizing the Internet Appendix (IA) for submissions to top academic journals, such as The Review of Financial Studies (RFS). It clarifies which material—such as full robustness checks, detailed proofs, or data construction methods—should reside in the main manuscript and which belongs in the supplementary IA. This ensures the core paper remains impactful, clean, and structurally rigorous.

This guide provides a comprehensive framework for polishing academic manuscripts, specifically tailored for submission to top financial journals like The Review of Financial Studies (RFS). It focuses on the late-stage refinement of prose, structuring the abstract and introduction, and ensuring the core research contribution and economic magnitude are immediately legible to the editor and reviewers.

This guide teaches authors how to structure and articulate the core contribution of an economics manuscript, especially for specialized journals like RJE. It provides a four-part framework (Market/Problem, Advance, Method, Lesson) to sharpen the 'so what' message, ensuring the research is legible and impactful to editors and referees, even under strict page limits.

This guide provides a comprehensive strategy for elevating the credibility of finance manuscripts to the standard of top-tier journals. It details rigorous methods for empirical causal identification (DID, IV, RDD, natural experiments) and ensures theoretical rigor by assessing assumptions, generalizability, and proof exposition. It helps researchers stress-test their work's core logic.

This guide provides comprehensive best practices for structuring tables and figures (exhibits) in empirical finance papers. It addresses the strict 60-page journal limit, advising authors on how to present core findings, identify mechanisms, and display robustness evidence while maintaining readability. Learn how to move mechanical grids to appendices, focus the main body, and ensure every visual element is self-contained and highly interpretable for top-tier referees.

This guide provides comprehensive style and revision rules for manuscripts submitted to top-tier finance journals, such as the Review of Finance (RoF). It helps authors transform their research into highly polished, general-finance readable prose, focusing on structuring the abstract (under 150 words), adhering to double-blind anonymity, maintaining Chicago citation style, and meeting strict length constraints (e.g., 60-page cap). Use this when your core results are stable and you are polishing the final draft for publication.

A critical pre-submission tool that provides a comprehensive go/no-go scorecard for academic manuscripts. It evaluates nine dimensions—including fit, robustness, and venue mechanics—to catch avoidable desk-reject risks before the author submits the paper. It scores the manuscript against the target venue's specific requirements and provides actionable feedback on gaps and necessary revisions.

A comprehensive guide for authors responding to peer review comments after manuscript revision. It teaches strategies for triaging feedback (Do, Defend, Defer), prioritizing necessary experiments, maintaining a respectful tone, and restructuring the core scientific narrative for high-impact journals. Essential for navigating the academic publishing process.
