Skill UI

A comprehensive guide for positioning econometric research papers for submission to The Econometrics Journal (EctJ). It emphasizes making the novelty legible to both econometricians and applied users by focusing on a leading-case contribution within a stringent 20-page limit. Techniques include defining the 'Frontier layer' and 'Use layer' of related work, and placing citations strategically to maximize impact and demonstrate a sharp, applied delta.

This skill guides authors in developing strong, portable, and highly structured theoretical arguments for manuscripts submitted to top journals like Governance. It focuses on moving beyond mere description by identifying causal mechanisms, defining rigorous scope conditions, and establishing testable, comparative concepts. It helps ensure the theory can travel across different cases and contexts.

A comprehensive guide designed to help researchers determine if their project aligns with the scope of top-tier journals like *Governance*. It provides a rigorous test to ensure that the research focuses on comparative, institutional, and general theories of state governance, moving beyond single-country case descriptions or corporate compliance.

This skill guides users in refining and polishing academic manuscripts intended for high-impact international journals focused on public administration and political science. It teaches how to transform single-case studies into arguments with a broad, comparative scope, ensuring the core contribution is front-loaded and clearly articulated for a global audience. Use this when structuring the introduction, tightening prose, or conforming to strict journal guidelines (e.g., word caps, abstract length, double-blind submission).

This guide determines if a scholarly manuscript aligns with the scope of *History and Theory*, a leading venue for the philosophy of history and historical theory. It emphasizes that accepted submissions must contain an original theoretical or methodological argument, rather than merely being an empirical case study. Use this resource to frame, re-check, or select the appropriate academic venue for your advanced research.

This skill guides researchers through a rigorous process of evaluating whether an International Relations (IR) project meets the standards of top-tier academic journals. It helps ensure the research focuses on generalizable theories of international politics, where international or cross-border phenomena are major causes or effects, rather than limited case studies or domestic political descriptions. Use this before committing to deep research or writing.

This skill guides researchers through the rigorous 'fit test' for submitting research to a flagship journal like the Journal of Communication (JoC). It helps determine if a project possesses general, cross-disciplinary significance rather than being limited to a specific platform or niche subfield. Use it to elevate case studies into theory-driven mechanisms, significantly improving the scholarly impact of your work.

This comprehensive preflight checklist is designed for authors preparing manuscripts for top academic journals. It guides users through crucial submission requirements, including double-blind anonymization, adherence to strict length norms (under 50 pages), structuring the contribution case, and ensuring compliance with modern transparency policies regarding data, code, and AI usage. Use it to maximize submission quality and minimize desk rejection risk.

This guide provides a framework for selecting and defending the appropriate research methodology for innovation-studies claims. It covers best practices for patent/bibliometric analysis, causal policy evaluation (e.g., DID, RDD), survey design, case studies, and mixed methods. It emphasizes that the method must fit the construct, not merely the indicator, guiding users to defend the underlying theoretical mechanism.

A comprehensive audit tool for stress-testing the logical coherence of sociological theory manuscripts. This skill guides the user through checking every link in the theoretical spine (premises → mechanism → propositions → conclusion), ensuring that claims are warranted, identifying strongest rival explanations, and handling potential counter-cases. It strengthens the argument itself, independent of empirical data.

A comprehensive pre-submission checklist for authors preparing papers for TACAS/ETAPS. It guides users through selecting the correct paper category (research, tool, case-study), adhering to specific Springer LNCS page limits, managing double-blind vs. single-blind review rules, and correctly staging mandatory tool artifacts to ensure acceptance readiness.

This comprehensive guide is designed to help authors assess the methodological and theoretical suitability of their manuscript for Transportation Research Part B. It emphasizes that the core contribution must be a generalizable method, model, or theorem (e.g., in traffic flow, network optimization, or choice modeling), rather than a simple applied case study. Use this tool for venue selection, manuscript re-framing, and ensuring rigorous analytical justification.
