Provides a comprehensive guide for designing rigorous academic studies for high-impact journals. Whether planning multi-study behavioral experiments, interpretive Consumer Culture Theory (CCT) fieldwork, or mixed designs, this resource ensures that the evidence collected is optimally structured to support the conceptual claim, emphasizing internal validity and transparency.

This guide details the rigorous and developmental peer review process of the Journal of Consumer Research (JCR). It covers the structure (double-anonymization, co-editor roles), reviewer expectations (conceptual contribution, evidence rigor, data transparency), and how to interpret decision letters (Reject vs. R&R). Use it before submission or when receiving a decision to structure your rebuttal and revision plan effectively.

A comprehensive guide for researchers preparing exhibits for high-impact journals like JCR. It details best practices for summarizing multi-study experimental packages, presenting complex statistical results (mediation, moderation, simple slopes), and developing conceptual figures while adhering to strict house style (Chicago Manual of Style) and page limits. Focuses on maximizing data clarity and earning space through effective visualization.

A comprehensive guide for developing the conceptual core of academic manuscripts in consumer research, aligning with high standards like JCR. It instructs users on defining psychological mechanisms (mediators/moderators) for experimental papers, or building robust conceptual frameworks for interpretive/CCT papers, ensuring the theory advances, deepens, or repudiates existing knowledge.

This guide assists researchers in elevating a simple observed 'effect' into a theoretically robust and conceptually advanced research contribution suitable for the Journal of Consumer Research (JCR). It provides frameworks for assessing interdisciplinary relevance, distinguishing between behavioral and interpretive genres, and ensuring the question genuinely advances existing consumer theory.

This guide serves as a comprehensive router for authors preparing manuscripts for the Journal of Consumer Research (JCR). It does not replace specialized skills but guides users through the entire academic publishing cycle—from initial vague ideas and theory gaps to data analysis, conceptual contribution framing, and managing revision/rebuttal cycles. Use it to determine the next critical step in refining your consumer behavior research manuscript.

A comprehensive guide for authors publishing in economic geography journals, detailing how to structure manuscripts to satisfy both economic and geographical communities. It provides methodological advice on transitioning between formal NEG/quantitative-spatial models and conceptual/evolutionary frameworks, ensuring that the underlying mechanisms and assumptions are transparent and testable.

A comprehensive guide for structuring and designing synthesis exhibits for academic literature reviews (e.g., JEL surveys). It teaches how to create 'who-found-what' summary tables, conceptual framework diagrams, and meta-evidence plots that synthesize existing findings across multiple studies, without presenting new, original estimates.

A comprehensive guide for creating rigorous, schematic exhibits (figures and tables) for highly theoretical journals, such as the Journal of Economic Theory (JET). Focuses on best practices for visualizing concepts like best-response diagrams, phase spaces, lattices, and information flows using vector graphics (TikZ/PDF), ensuring strict adherence to published notation and maximizing proof clarity.

This guide teaches researchers how to structure and frame academic papers, specifically for journals focusing on financial intermediation. It emphasizes moving the contribution narrative away from general finance concepts and anchoring it firmly in the roles of institutions, economic friction, causal mechanisms, and policy consequences within the financial system. Use this to strengthen abstracts and introduction paragraphs.

A guide for structuring academic manuscripts, teaching authors how to precisely situate their research contribution against established theoretical frontiers (e.g., TCE, PPE, Firm Theory). It moves beyond simply listing prior work to defining a clear conceptual delta relative to canonical anchors, which is crucial for top-tier scholarly journals.

This skill guides researchers through drafting a robust and credible response to major academic revisions (R&R) from top-tier journals, particularly in institutional economics. It teaches how to systematically decode editor feedback, separate core conceptual challenges from technical gaps, and structure a point-by-point reply that addresses deal-breakers effectively, ensuring the response is substantive and highly responsive.
