This skill guides researchers on how to position an economic policy manuscript's contribution against two critical frontiers: the existing academic literature and the current, live policy debate (e.g., central bank statements, commission proposals). It teaches authors to synthesize a single contribution sentence that moves both the academic and the policy conversation, ensuring the paper is timely, impactful, and highly relevant to policymakers.

This comprehensive guide teaches authors how to structure a persuasive and impactful introduction for top-tier economics journals. It covers the 'funnel structure,' effective hooks (data, policy, theory), identifying research puzzles (tension), and formulating non-overlapping, specific marginal contributions, ensuring the paper's core findings are previewed.

A comprehensive guide for authors responding to 'revise-and-resubmit' decisions, particularly for high-impact journals like ESR. It details the strategic process of addressing reviewer critiques, focusing on comparative design, measurement equivalence, and advanced modeling. Learn how to structure your rebuttal letter, concede points with evidence, or respectfully rebut claims without weakening your core contribution.

A comprehensive guide for academics on structuring and articulating the core, novel contribution of a scholarly paper, particularly in specialized fields like Game Theory and Economic Behavior. It provides a framework for crafting a single, highly impactful 'contribution sentence' and organizing the claim cascade (Headline, Why Open, Key Idea), ensuring the theoretical advance is immediately legible to specialized editors and reviewers.

A specialized tool designed for researchers targeting the International Journal of Plasticity (IJP). It guides authors on whether their manuscript—especially those related to plastic deformation—is a strong fit, focusing on the necessity of developing a rigorous, constitutive model and validating it against experimental data. Use this skill to re-frame observational studies into impactful theoretical contributions.

A comprehensive guide detailing the stringent standards and best practices for creating high-quality scientific figures for chemistry journals, specifically following the guidelines of the Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS). Covers everything from reaction schemes and mechanism diagrams to NMR/IR spectra, crystal structures, and creating impactful Table of Contents (TOC) graphics, ensuring clarity, consistency, and adherence to academic publishing conventions.

This comprehensive guide helps researchers evaluate whether a clinical or health-services study is appropriate for publication in JAMA Internal Medicine. It details the journal's high bar for methodological rigor, including requirements for randomized trials (CONSORT), observational studies (STROBE), and systematic reviews (PRISMA). It covers everything from study design and statistical reporting to addressing potential desk-reject triggers, ensuring authors submit high-quality, impactful research.

This guide provides best practices for presenting empirical results in development economics, emphasizing a 'figure-forward' approach suitable for top-tier journals. It teaches researchers how to transform complex statistical models (like DID, RDD, and ITT) into clear, self-contained, and impactful visual exhibits (plots and maps). The goal is to ensure that the headline findings are immediately legible to expert referees, moving beyond traditional, complex coefficient tables.

An essential workflow router designed for authors submitting original research to the Journal of Educational Psychology. This guide orchestrates the entire manuscript lifecycle, from initial topic selection and study design to addressing reviewer feedback (R&R) and ensuring adherence to strict standards like APA 7th, masked review, and Transparency and Openness (TOP). It helps authors navigate the specific requirements of publishing impactful, educationally relevant psychological research.

A comprehensive playbook for authors responding to a major Revise and Resubmit (R&R) decision. It provides structured advice on addressing deep academic concerns—including growth mechanisms, empirical identification, calibration sensitivity, and theoretical assumptions—ensuring the response is rigorous, organized, and highly impactful for top-tier journals.

A guide on how to present highly convincing empirical evidence in academic writing, especially in economics, when regression tables or complex math are limited. This skill teaches readers to translate statistical findings into clear, impactful prose by focusing on magnitude in plain units, synthesizing the body of evidence, defining ranges of precision, and maintaining intellectual honesty.

A comprehensive guide for drafting structured and professional response letters to journal reviewers, specifically tailored for high-stakes revisions like those required by the Journal of Financial Economics. It details the necessary point-by-point rebuttal structure, including quoting comments, stating actions taken, and presenting evidence-backed results, ensuring the response is complete, respectful, and academically rigorous.
