A comprehensive guide for authors navigating the rigorous academic review process of the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS). It details the steps from editorial desk-screening and area-editor routing to the double-blind review standards. Learn how to interpret complex decision letters, address specific methodological concerns (e.g., endogeneity, CMV, invariance), and structure effective revisions to maximize publication chances.

This comprehensive guide acts as a router for preparing a manuscript for the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS). It helps researchers determine the next logical step, guiding the process from initial topic selection and theory development through data analysis, writing, and final submission/rebuttal. It ensures the manuscript addresses a real-world international-business phenomenon and contributes explicitly to IB theory.

This guide provides comprehensive methodological frameworks for conducting rigorous empirical analyses in international trade and macroeconomics, particularly tailored to the standards of top-tier journals like the JIE. It covers assembling bilateral trade and cross-country panels, estimating gravity models using PPML, implementing local projections, and calibrating structural open-economy models. It ensures analyses are robust, replicable, and address common referee criticisms.

A comprehensive guide for crafting structured and highly technical response letters to academic reviewers, specifically modeled after top-tier economics journals (e.g., JIE). It teaches the precise format for addressing both editorial concerns and complex referee points, covering specialized econometrics and structural modeling fixes for international trade and open-economy macroeconomics.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal of International Economics (JIE). It details the various submission types (regular, short, PRP), the stages of editorial handling (desk screen, referee rounds), historical acceptance odds, and best practices for maximizing manuscript chances of acceptance in top-tier economics journals.

A comprehensive guide for managing the highly critical stage of journal revision. This skill helps researchers decode editor feedback, strategically decide on necessary data collection (e.g., new countries, invariance tests), and structure a professional, point-by-point response letter that addresses every reviewer comment effectively while maintaining scholarly rigor.

A comprehensive guide for constructing and validating cross-country and time-series panel data in international macro-finance. It addresses common pitfalls in measurement choices (e.g., gross vs. net flows, USD vs. NEER), sample period justification (e.g., GFC, ZLB), and frequency mismatch, ensuring methodological rigor required by top-tier journals.

A comprehensive guide for establishing rigorous causal claims in international macro-finance. This skill addresses complex econometric challenges such as global confounders, policy endogeneity, and high-frequency surprises in open-economy models. It provides methodologies for cross-country panel data, capital control analysis, and advanced inference, ensuring results meet the high standards of top-tier international finance journals.

A comprehensive guide for authors responding to major/minor revisions, reject-and-resubmits, or transfer offers from top-tier international finance journals (JIMF). It teaches the structured, evidence-based approach necessary to address reviewer critiques, reconcile conflicting feedback, and successfully advocate for revised methodology.

A comprehensive guide for establishing rigorous causal claims in law and economics. It details advanced econometric methodologies (DiD, RDD, IV, Event Study) required to defend the identification strategy—the mapping from a legal variation to the causal estimand—meeting the high standards of top academic journals.

This guide helps scholars precisely define the novel contribution of their research manuscript in the specialized field of Law and Economics (L&E). It teaches authors how to position their work's marginal addition against foundational L&E literature (like Coase or Becker), moving beyond mere topic novelty to focus on new answers, legal variations, or mechanisms. Essential for navigating high-tier academic publishing.

A comprehensive guide for drafting a structured and evidence-based response to academic peer reviews, particularly for high-stakes journals like JLE. It teaches authors how to triage reviewer comments, structure the response letter (opening summary, point-by-point), and address complex issues such as legal identification and institutional description while maintaining a professional, non-defensive tone.
