This guide details the rigorous, reproducible empirical strategies required to identify causal parameters in applied econometrics, meeting high standards (e.g., JAE). It covers various designs—including DID, IV, panel data, and time-series—and mandates that every assumption and diagnostic test must be explicitly stated, tested, and reproducible using deposited code/data.

This guide outlines the mandatory data and code deposit policy for articles published in the Journal of Applied Econometrics (JAE). Authors must submit a complete, non-confidential set of input data (plain ASCII/CSV), programs that replicate every result, and a detailed README file. It emphasizes strict adherence to archival format rules, ensuring the research is fully reproducible for the academic community.

A comprehensive guide for authors handling a journal's revise-and-resubmit (R&R) decision. It outlines the critical sequence: prioritizing new analyses (identification, channel, measurement) over writing, triaging referee concerns (first-order vs. second-order), drafting evidence-backed responses, and updating the complete data-and-code package. Essential for quantitative researchers aiming for publication.

This guide assists researchers in assembling a comprehensive, reproducible data and code supplement for submissions to statistical journals, adhering to the American Statistical Association (ASA) data-sharing policies. It outlines the required structure (README, code, data), provenance tracking, environment pinning, and necessary steps (like setting random seeds and drafting data availability statements) to ensure that published results can be fully regenerated and verified by reviewers.

A comprehensive preflight checklist designed for submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Business & Economic Statistics (JBES). This guide ensures authors have verified all necessary components—including the data/code supplement, conflict disclosures, and cover letter targeting—against the latest academic standards. It functions as a critical final review step before formal submission, emphasizing the need to cross-reference live journal guidelines.

This comprehensive guide outlines the best practices for preparing a complete and reproducible research package for submission to the Journal of Banking & Finance (JBF) following Elsevier Option C guidelines. It details requirements for data availability statements, proper structuring of code and data access materials, and best methods for managing proprietary or restricted datasets (such as CRSP or Compustat), ensuring research transparency and verifiability.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting to the Journal of Corporate Finance (JCF). It details how to comply with Elsevier's Option C data availability requirements, focusing on drafting the data availability statement and structuring the research archive. It provides best practices for handling licensed, proprietary data (e.g., Compustat, CRSP) by recommending the sharing of construction code and access instructions, rather than raw data deposits.

This guide provides best practices for preparing code, data, and supporting artifacts for academic submissions, focusing on achieving reproducibility for peer review (especially in double-blind settings). It covers crucial steps including artifact anonymization, establishing clear data availability statements, structuring the repository (README, env, data, src), ensuring licensing compliance, and planning for permanent post-acceptance archiving.

A comprehensive guide for assembling a complete and reproducible materials package for experimental economics research, specifically for JEBO submissions. It details required components, including participant instructions, z-Tree/oTree code, anonymized raw data, detailed analysis scripts, and environment specifications, ensuring rigorous academic reproducibility.

Provides comprehensive guidelines for authors submitting empirical, quantitative, or theoretical growth papers. It details how to package data sources, code pipelines, calibration files, and historical/geospatial artifacts to meet stringent reproducibility standards for publishing journals.

This guide outlines a systematic methodology for gathering, reading, and synthesizing large bodies of academic research for comprehensive economic surveys (JEL style). It moves beyond simple summarization by enforcing structured data collection into a detailed evidence matrix. The process ensures maximum coverage through advanced search techniques (e.g., snowballing, JEL code sweeps) and focuses on synthesizing connections, identifying consensus, and articulating scholarly tensions across different studies.

This tool provides a comprehensive pre-submission checklist designed for authors submitting survey papers (either a proposal or a full draft) to the Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) via the AEA portal. It ensures compliance by verifying JEL codes, disclosure statements, data availability, and adherence to style guides, helping authors finalize their submission package.
