Skill UI

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting visualization research to the EuroVis conference. It provides expert advice on conference positioning, emphasizing specialist novelty and clear analytic value. The skill covers required evidence standards, contribution framing, and differentiating the work from other top venues like IEEE VIS, helping authors optimize their submission strategy.

A comprehensive guide for positioning visualization and visual analytics manuscripts for the IEEE Pacific Visualization Symposium (PacificVis). This skill helps authors refine their scope, evidence presentation, and overall narrative to match the unique requirements and review expectations of this top-tier conference. It acts as a fit/framing tool for conference submission strategy, ensuring the work is appropriately targeted for the Asia-Pacific community focus.

This guide provides comprehensive strategic advice for authors targeting the IEEE Visualization Conference (IEEE VIS). It covers conference positioning, scope fitting, required evidence (visual encoding, evaluation), and helps authors re-frame their work from journal or arXiv formats into a selective, high-impact conference narrative. Use it when determining if a research manuscript is appropriate for IEEE VIS.

A comprehensive guide for researchers preparing exhibits for high-impact journals like JCR. It details best practices for summarizing multi-study experimental packages, presenting complex statistical results (mediation, moderation, simple slopes), and developing conceptual figures while adhering to strict house style (Chicago Manual of Style) and page limits. Focuses on maximizing data clarity and earning space through effective visualization.

A comprehensive guide detailing best practices for creating scientifically rigorous and publication-ready figures, particularly for molecular biology and structural studies. It covers statistical representation (n, error bars, point plots), structural integrity (uncropped blots, resolution reporting), colorblind accessibility, and multi-panel data presentation to ensure the figure genuinely proves the mechanism, rather than just summarizing it.

A comprehensive guide for authors designing figures and tables for Nature Geoscience manuscripts. It outlines strict rules for adhering to a limited figure budget (4-6 display items), ensuring the lead figure immediately conveys the core Earth-system advance and its uncertainty, and maintaining high standards of cartography and data visualization for non-specialist readership.

This comprehensive checklist guides researchers through finalizing scientific figures and tables for submission to PNAS. It enforces rigorous standards covering optimal column sizing, minimum font size, displaying underlying data (points and 'n'), colorblind accessibility, and maintaining data integrity. Use this guide before submission to ensure your visualizations meet high journal standards.

Provides comprehensive guidelines for designing tables and figures (exhibits) for academic manuscripts. The focus is on creating self-contained, highly accessible visualizations that effectively communicate quantitative effect magnitude and uncertainty to both specialized scholars and public practitioners, optimizing impact for publication.

This guide provides best practices for building self-explanatory, high-impact exhibits for interdisciplinary academic manuscripts. It covers the structured design of complex visualizations, including regression tables, bibliometric maps, event-study plots, and qualitative data structures. The goal is to ensure every figure and table carries the core innovation mechanism and is immediately interpretable by diverse readers (e.g., policymakers, managers, and economists).

Provides comprehensive guidelines for designing high-impact scientific figures for major academic journals. It covers technical aspects like optimal sizing, font legibility, and colorblind safety, while also enforcing strict data visualization practices (e.g., using dot plots over bars, defining 'n', ensuring data integrity). Use this as a final quality check before submission to guarantee scientific rigor and maximize publication chances.

A comprehensive guide for structuring research papers, particularly in computer graphics and visualization fields (like SIGGRAPH). It dictates how to match technical claims (e.g., 'higher quality,' 'faster') to verifiable evidence, including head-to-head comparisons against State-of-the-Art (SOTA), detailed metric reporting (PSNR, SSIM, Hausdorff), performance timing linked to specific hardware, and robust user studies. Essential for achieving academic rigor and pre-empting domain reviewer objections.

A comprehensive guide detailing the standards for scientific reproducibility in visualization research, particularly for IEEE VIS submissions. It outlines the Graphics Replicability Stamp Initiative (GRSI) requirements, covering how independent volunteers must reproduce results using provided code, data, and environments (e.g., Docker containers). Learn how to package your work—including determinism aids, mapping tables, and licensed data—to pass rigorous, clean-machine testing.
