Skill UI

This powerful skill pauses deep technical discussions to conduct a comprehensive, multi-dimensional reassessment. It analyzes conceptual drift, identifies unverified assumptions, and detects potential cognitive biases (e.g., confirmation bias, sunk cost fallacy). Use it when the conversation is becoming overly detailed, or when a strategic check-in is needed to ensure the focus remains on the core objective and the correct problem is being solved.

This framework serves as a rigorous thought partner, designed to challenge underlying assumptions, separate raw evidence from interpretation, and ensure that all conclusions are fully defensible. It guides users to define clear decision goals, test counterfactuals, and calibrate claims strictly to the available data quality. Ideal for high-stakes projects where the cost of error is significant.

This guide outlines how to elevate a research paper beyond merely presenting new estimates. It teaches authors to frame their contributions around actionable policy gaps, welfare improvements, and cost-benefit analyses, ensuring the 'so what' for policymakers is the primary takeaway. Essential for academic writing in economics.

This guide details the specific structure and rigor required for writing systems papers for top-tier academic conferences like ATC. It emphasizes the need for a self-standing, two-page abstract (Round One) and a full-paper narrative that is purely implementation and measurement driven. Key principles include quantifying costs alongside gains, structuring the narrative from problem to impact, and rigorously supporting claims with real-world evidence.

A comprehensive guide for authors responding to IEEE ICDE peer reviews. Learn how to structure both rebuttals to initial concerns and detailed revise-and-resubmit change documents. The guide emphasizes strategic triage, anchoring answers to concrete evidence, addressing systems-level pushback (e.g., baselines, cost), and maintaining feasibility discipline within tight revision deadlines.

This guide teaches the rigorous method of stress-testing academic arguments by anticipating and addressing the strongest potential objections. It provides a structured framework for identifying weak premises, boundary cases, and constructing precise replies (rebuttal, concession, or acceptance of cost). Essential for advanced academic writing, especially in philosophy, to ensure your argument survives expert scrutiny.

A comprehensive guide for positioning research in distributed-computing theory, specifically for conferences like PODC. It details how to move beyond topic listings to defining a precise 'delta' by comparing models, bounds, and costs against prior art. Crucial advice includes distinguishing between different synchrony models, fault tolerances, and handling self-citation in double-blind reviews.

A rigorous framework to prevent confident fabrication (hallucination) by treating competence as an evidence boundary. It guides users to classify claims—Grounded, Partial, or Ungrounded—based on verifiable sources. It mandates assessing the cost of wrongness before answering, fetching, or abstaining, ensuring that assertions are always backed by sufficient evidence.

This framework guides decision-makers to structure their thinking by classifying decisions based on the cost and feasibility of reversal. It emphasizes treating low-cost, reversible choices (two-way doors) quickly, while reserving deep deliberation for high-cost, irreversible commitments (one-way doors). It helps mitigate analysis paralysis and premature over-engineering.
