This guide outlines best practices for Nature Geoscience authors, detailing how to separate essential narrative (Main Text) from comprehensive, reproducible documentation (Online Methods). It emphasizes grounding every quantitative claim, quantifying uncertainty, and ensuring full data and code availability to meet high academic standards and pass rigorous peer review.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting to Nature Geoscience, detailing best practices for selecting suggested and excluded referees. It teaches how to strategically write the manuscript and cover letter to preemptively address common high-impact journal objections regarding scientific breadth, technical grounding, and uncertainty quantification.

This guide provides a structured methodology for authors to transform raw scientific data and multiple findings into a single, cohesive, and high-impact narrative, suitable for top-tier journals like Nature Geoscience. It focuses on identifying the single 'headline advance,' structuring the abstract using the 'Here we show' convention, and ensuring the opening paragraphs immediately convey significance to the Earth system.

A comprehensive guide detailing the best practices for responding to Nature Geoscience referee reports and editor decisions. Learn how to structure a point-by-point reply, package your resubmission effectively, and make strategic decisions regarding appeals or retargeting.

A comprehensive guide for Earth scientists to determine if their research meets the broad, cross-disciplinary standards required by top-tier journals like Nature Geoscience. It helps authors assess if their findings represent a genuine Earth-system advance, possess broad interest, and are supported by quantified evidence, guiding them toward the optimal publication venue.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting to Nature Geoscience. It details the critical distinction between the main article text, online Methods, and Supplementary Information (SI). Learn how to ensure your core findings are stand-alone and decisive, while relegating extensive datasets, model ensembles, and derivations to the SI, maintaining academic rigor and clarity.

A comprehensive guide detailing how to properly categorize and structure supplementary content for major academic conference submissions, such as NSDI. It outlines the rules for the four distinct containers (Body, References, Appendices, Auxiliary Material), helping authors determine if evidence is required for judging a claim (Body), merely supportive (Appendix), or critical for online review (Auxiliary). It also covers best practices for revision packets.

This guide outlines the rigorous standards for writing top-tier distributed systems conference papers. It details the mandatory narrative arc—moving from an operational pain point to a named design principle—and emphasizes that every claim must be supported by precise, measured evidence (e.g., percentiles and specific workloads) rather than relying on superlatives or vague adjectives. It also provides guidance on structuring the argument, budgeting page space, and designing figures as core evidence.

This guide provides a structured approach for writing high-stakes author responses to academic paper reviews (like those in OOPSLA). It teaches authors how to move beyond simple rebuttals by framing every concern as an argument supporting a desired outcome (Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject). Focus areas include quantifying feasibility, structuring the argument for committee skimming, and strategically shaping the scope of required revisions.

A comprehensive guide for authors aiming to submit top-tier technical papers (like those for OOPSLA). It teaches how to transform descriptive drafts into highly verifiable, structured academic arguments. Focus areas include developing running examples, articulating falsifiable claims, optimizing article pacing, and anticipating reviewer challenges to maximize the chances of acceptance.

This guide helps researchers evaluate whether their high-impact optics or photonics manuscript meets the stringent criteria of Optica. It covers ideal scope (e.g., nanophotonics, quantum optics), required experimental rigor (quantitative measurements, state-of-the-art benchmarking), article structure (concise, load-bearing figures), and official submission guidelines, ensuring the work is framed for broad scientific interest.

This tool helps authors determine the suitability of their academic manuscript for the highly theoretical journal, Organization Studies (OS). It guides authors on required depth, theoretical contribution (process, institutional, critical), qualitative methods, and European organizational theory framing, ensuring alignment with the journal's high academic bar and academic discourse.
