Use this guide before hitting the final submit button.

This guide walks authors through the critical post-acceptance stages of academic publishing. It covers transforming a revised manuscript into a final, print-ready version, focusing on meticulous checks for references (GB/T 7714), figures, tables, and consistency. It also details procedures for copyright, fee payment, and proofreading (proofreading/erratum submission).

This guide provides structured advice for authors submitting to journals like JEBO. It emphasizes shifting the narrative focus from methodology or procedure to the core behavioral mechanism. It covers structuring the abstract, ensuring the headline finding is presented early, calibrating jargon for a multi-disciplinary audience (e.g., psychologists, economists), and adhering to specific Elsevier formatting requirements.

This guide helps researchers evaluate the scope and general significance of their theoretical computer science work. It introduces the 'breadth test' (corridor, lineage, technique) and a detailed routing map to advise whether the paper is best suited for a flagship, broad-scope venue like STOC, or a more specialized conference (e.g., SODA, ITCS, CCC). It provides a structured decision procedure for optimizing academic publication success.
