Skill UI

This skill acts as a comprehensive workflow router for manuscripts targeting the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics (AEJ: Macro). It guides the researcher through the entire publication lifecycle—from initial topic selection and literature positioning, through rigorous quantitative modeling (DSGE, SVAR), empirical identification, writing, to final submission and rebuttal strategy. It ensures the final paper meets the high standards of modern macroeconomics research.

This skill acts as a workflow router, guiding researchers through the entire manuscript lifecycle for submissions to American Economic Journal: Microeconomics (AEJ: Micro). It does not write the paper, but diagnoses the current bottleneck—whether it's topic selection, model refinement, empirical testing, or rebuttal strategy—and specifies which specialized aejmic-* sub-skill to invoke next, ensuring the paper aligns with the specific requirements of AEJ: Micro. Triggered when users are unsure what step to take next, or when revising based on reviewer comments.

This guide outlines how to elevate a research paper beyond merely presenting new estimates. It teaches authors to frame their contributions around actionable policy gaps, welfare improvements, and cost-benefit analyses, ensuring the 'so what' for policymakers is the primary takeaway. Essential for academic writing in economics.

A guide for academic writers on how to succinctly position a research contribution against the single closest prior work in highly constrained formats (e.g., AER: Insights). It teaches authors to state the novelty (the 'delta') in one or two paragraphs, avoiding full literature reviews and focusing only on the marginal contribution.

This skill guides researchers on how to triage numerous robustness checks for short-format academic manuscripts (e.g., AER: Insights) constrained by word and exhibit limits. It teaches the 'minimum credible set' approach: identifying the 1-2 core checks that defend the central hypothesis for the main text, while systematically moving all supplementary checks to the Appendix and properly signposting them in one sentence to maintain credibility.

This guide helps researchers assess whether their complex project contains a single, crisp, general-interest insight suitable for short-format academic journals. It provides a rigorous framework to filter out multi-result papers, ensuring the core contribution is publishable, significant, and self-contained.

This skill guides authors on how to position their manuscript within the complex, multidisciplinary literature of Agricultural Systems (AgSy). It ensures that the paper advances the conversation by engaging both the domain knowledge and the core modeling/systems methodologies. The process focuses on identifying unresolved systemic trade-offs, pinpointing the exact research gap, and clearly articulating the unique contribution among established alternatives.

A comprehensive guide for structuring academic arguments, specifically tailored to the high theoretical standards of top-tier journals like AJPS. It helps researchers transform initial ideas into a rigorous framework, defining core mechanisms, stating directional and testable hypotheses before results, and establishing clear scope conditions for empirical, formal, or methodological papers.

This skill provides a rigorous framework for political scientists to pre-test their research projects against the standards of the American Journal of Political Science (AJPS). It evaluates whether a topic has a sharp, generalizable question, demonstrates strong causal identification, provides a substantive theoretical contribution, and fits the appropriate submission type (Article, Research Note, Correspondence). Use this before committing significant time to writing.

Designed for advanced academic reviews, this framework guides the development of a unifying 'spine' that transcends simple literature summaries. It forces the writer to impose a novel organizational logic—such as a typology, process model, or integrating construct—thereby achieving genuine theory advancement and defining the field's future research agenda. Use this when the draft reads like a disconnected list of papers.

This guide helps researchers structure their discussion section and manuscript to explicitly articulate the theoretical contribution, moving beyond simple results reporting. It teaches how to identify, claim, and frame various types of theoretical advancements (e.g., new mechanisms, boundaries, or integrating literatures), ensuring the paper meets the high standards of top-tier academic journals like AMJ.

A guide for structuring academic arguments, ensuring your research paper actively engages with and advances a specific theoretical conversation. It teaches authors how to move beyond simple literature summaries by explicitly identifying a core theoretical stream, pinpointing its limitations (the challenge), and proposing new theoretical mechanisms (the extension). Essential for high-impact scholarly writing in management and social sciences.
