Skill UI

This advanced skill provides a rigorous framework for assessing whether an organizational or management research manuscript is suitable for highly selective, theory-driven journals like the Academy of Management Journal (AMJ). It guides authors on necessary theoretical framing, methodological rigor (e.g., endogeneity, causal inference), structural improvements, and common pitfalls to avoid, significantly improving submission quality and maximizing acceptance chances.

This guide helps researchers assess the optimal venue for their work, determining if their project aligns best with AISTATS, or if it is better suited for major ML conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR), UAI, or specific statistics journals. It emphasizes the need for strong statistical foundations, inference guarantees, and the unique intersection of AI, ML, and statistics before starting the writing process.

A comprehensive guide for structuring research manuscripts for top-tier academic journals (e.g., ASQ). It details the rigorous requirements for both qualitative (e.g., grounded theory, ethnography) and quantitative (e.g., causal inference, multilevel modeling) designs. Learn how to ensure theoretical fit, establish credibility, and design against alternative explanations to maximize the impact and rigor of your work.

A comprehensive guide for transforming complex regression results into self-contained, highly legible figures suitable for top-tier academic journals. It focuses on best practices for visualizing causal inference results (DID, RDD, IV), ensuring that the main findings can be understood by the reader simply by viewing the figure, independent of the surrounding text. Ideal for researchers in econometrics and social sciences.

A highly specialized guide for drafting a rebuttal letter following a revise-and-resubmit (R&R) at top-tier economics journals. It provides a structured, point-by-point framework for professionally conceding, refuting, or upgrading evidence in response to highly technical peer reviewer comments (e.g., identification, modern DID, inference).

A comprehensive guide detailing the best practices for drafting a rebuttal letter in response to single-blind peer reviews for applied econometrics journals. Covers critical areas like defending identification, improving inference, and ensuring robustness, while maintaining mandatory synchronization between the revised manuscript and the official data archive.

A comprehensive guide for structuring and writing professional rebuttal letters in academia. It teaches authors how to respond to highly specialized journal reviewer comments (R&R), particularly addressing challenging methodological points common in economics, such as open-economy fit, shift-share inference, and GVC measurement. It emphasizes professional tone, systematic rebuttal structure, and linking changes directly to the revised manuscript.

A comprehensive guide for constructing rigorous and auditable exhibits (tables and figures) in academic manuscripts, particularly for Organization Studies and process modeling. Learn how to structure data-to-theory evidence tables, process models with explicit mechanisms, and data structure figures to allow reviewers to clearly trace the inference from raw data to theoretical constructs, significantly enhancing the paper's methodological rigor.

This guide provides methodology for constructing academic arguments based on textual evidence and close reading, adhering to high scholarly standards like PMLA. It teaches users to analyze the text's language, form, syntax, and structure rather than merely summarizing content. Key principles include precise quoting, demonstrating the inference path directly from the passage, and accounting for counter-evidence to achieve deep academic rigor.

This skill provides comprehensive norms for executing and reporting robust, reproducible data analysis in comparative, cross-national, or formal-empirical studies. It guides authors on honestly reporting uncertainty, ensuring statistical robustness, performing rigorous cross-national inference, and integrating qualitative evidence through triangulation to meet the demanding standards of top academic journals.
